The Program Coordinator's duties include but are not limited to planning and coordination of the program and its activities; managing program-related internal and external communication; event planning and preparation; communicating with program participants and stakeholders; mentoring junior staff members, assisting in data collection and processing; providing general administrative support to the program teams; assisting in the preparation of presentations and communication materials; assisting in travel arrangements; assisting in the preparation of various program reports; assisting in the preparation of the social media publications and responding to general inquiries. The position reports to a Program Manager located in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and will also work directly with program staff in the Washington, D.C. office of American Councils.
Job Responsibilities
The individual in this role will be focused on facilitating various initiatives designed to enhance engagement with USG program alumni. Day-to-day, the position involves:
· Facilitate U.S. government alumni-led educational projects that address local community needs
· Increase engagement and communication between 11,000 U.S. government exchange program alumni through alumni gatherings, including alumni conferences and workshops
· Work closely with the Regional Alumni Representatives (RARs) to ensure access to networking, professional development, and knowledge exchange opportunities among U.S. government exchange program alumni in their respective regions
· Source, evaluate, and select vendors based on project requirements and budget considerations.
· Manage the purchasing process, including negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with organizational policies
· Oversee shipment logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and resources needed for projects. Coordinate with alumni to understand their specific project needs and align vendor services accordingly
· Assist in budget planning for vendor services related to alumni projects, ensuring financial accountability
· Traveling to contact key target audiences, implement project events, monitor, and training
· Assisting in data collection and processing
· Assisting in the preparation/posting of publications in program media channels
· Responding to various questions/inquires received from U.S. government exchange program alumni
· Other duties as assigned, including liaising with government officials and working closely with American experts and faculty within Uzbekistan.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Education, Education Policy, TESOL, Project Management, Business, English, Public Policy, or Humanities.
· Must speak, read and write Uzbek and/or Russian with native-level proficiency / Fluency in English
· Minimum 3-5 years experience in education, educational management or administration, office administration, personnel management
· Exceptional time management, organization and planning skills
· Proactive, independent, and flexible self-starter in task management and program implementation
· Demonstrated excellence in communication and multicultural interpersonal skills
· Well-developed knowledge of the education system in Uzbekistan and the United States at all levels
· Experience traveling under difficult conditions
· Flexibility to occasionally work on weekends and evenings
· Experience in budget management
· Familiarity with Microsoft Office software suite and common social media platforms
