The 34-year-old plays Ruth Wilder, a determined Los Angeles actress in the 1980s, who ends up unknowingly auditioning for a place as a Gorgeous Lady of Wrestling. But before the end of the Netflix show's first instalment finishes, viewers have already been subjected to an unspeakable betrayal and full-frontal nudity from the character.
Ruth's best friend Debbie's husband climbed through the window into her room unexpectedly following the character's initial introduction to the world of female wrestling, but as she attempted to send him away, the truth was revealed that the characters have already shared a drunken passionate tryst.
Even though she claimed that she didn't want a repeat of the mistake, all it took was one powerful speech and the scene cut to Ruth completely naked and riding the married man.
At some moments she's totally sexless and determined
While the scene was darkly lit, Brie's assets could be clearly seen bobbing up and down as her character lost herself to the moment in reckless abandon. But when Ruth's sexual partner kept giving her compliments, she attempted to drown him out.
"You are so real, you are the most real person I've ever met," he said, to which Ruth responded telling him to “shh".
The Community actress has never been afraid of trying new things, and Brie recently revealed what attracted her to a remake of the series, which itself is based on a real-life wrestling club at the time.
"I was drawn to the complexity of this character and the tone of the show overall. I like that she is a shapeshifter," she said.
However, even given the events of the series' first episode, the actress also said that she thinks her character could be described as "sexless".
"At some moments she's totally sexless and determined, and then other moments she's doing this outrageous, horrible thing to her friend.
"I do think barring that first episode, which is a huge part of what the character is, the rest of the time it's a main part of her focus," the star told A.V. CLUB.
The actress also added that she thinks this aspect to Ruth is what makes her unsuccessful as an actress, adding: "She's not good at playing into those flirty games that actresses are expected to play."
The entire first season of GLOW is available to watch on Netflix now.

The wait is over as GLOW season 3 wrestles its way to screens.
Netflix doesn’t just shine.. it glows!
The popular streaming service has delivered some real hits this year, concluding the phenomenal Orange Is the New Black and offering (arguably) the very best season of Stranger Things yet.
Over the current decade, we’ve seen plenty of brilliant Netflix titles take off, and one of the most exciting would probably have to be GLOW. Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch’s acclaimed American comedy series chronicles a group of women who come together in the world of professional wrestling in the eighties.
They are collectively dubbed the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling; hence the title, GLOW. The first season reached audiences back in 2017 and became an instant hit for its colourful address, excellent characters and unique story. It was soon renewed and fans were happy to tuck into more episodes in Summer 2018. Inevitably, it was renewed once again also, and at long last, we were welcomed back into the fold on Friday, August 9th 2019.
We’ve seen many people storm Las Vegas in cinema and TV, but now it’s time for the women of GLOW to make their mark.
Bustle reported that actress Alison Brie ( Community , Mad Men ) told the Los Angeles Times: “What always surprises and excites me is the way our writers find new ways to look at women and women’s issues in a way that doesn’t feel ‘issue-y.'” Indeed, that’s absolutely right, and definitely one of the show’s greatest merits.
The same source also notes that the actress outlined more nudity and a sexier season 3. This got fans thinking about how it would play out; the camp elements are expertly exaggerated this time around, and the performances are all as marvellous as ever.
But, was she right about the nudity?
Season 3 is listed to contain strong sex references and brief strong nudity, and yes, that’s what it delivers.
Fans will definitely notice that the new crop of episodes contains more nudity than the previous, but it’s also worth asserting that it doesn’t feel forced and thrown in for the sake of having it. Sometimes a show will get amp up these elements unnecessarily, but it’s not like it dominates any of the episodes here.
Episode one has none, but episode two – ‘The Hot Tub Club’ – basically opens with a quickfire montage of sex scenes; they’re only brief, but make an impression, announcing more to come and clarifying that Alison was right. Sometimes the camera will cut away before revealing anything major, but in episode three – ‘Desert Pollen’ – there’s actually full-frontal male nudity at roughly twenty-three minutes into the episode.
There’s also some brief nudity in the expository five minutes of episode four, and that’s it for episodes four and five.
#GLOW season 3 is another excellent outing for one of the best shows on Netflix. Funny, affecting and unafraid to tackle big issues, it’s a treat for fans and newcomers alike. Alison Brie, Marc Maron and Betty Gilpin are brilliant as ever, but season 3’s MVP is Gayle Rankin. pic.twitter.com/cO3nYcAIRU
Continuing on with episode six, it’s worth highlighting the excellent use of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Gypsy’ in the intro, which works wonders. The episode sees the women get away and connect in the great outdoors – it’s very dialogue-driven and, no, it doesn’t feature any nudity.
There isn’t any in episodes seven or eight either, so – as mentioned earlier – it really isn’t thrown in for anything’s sake. You could argue that it saves the best until later on though, as a steamy threesome scene absolutely steals the show in episode nine. We won’t ruin it for you, but it’s a pretty big moment with a twist!
The ten-part season then concludes with ‘A Very GLOW Christmas’ which places particular emphasis on the wrestling and takes a rest from the raunchier stuff.
Overall, it’s another fantastic collection of episodes from the unique series, and after a quick binge, you’ll certainly be ready for more.

Her new starring role in Netflix wrestling comedy GLOW, requires a lot of skin on show.
But confident Alison Brie has insisted she had no qualms about stripping off on screen, thanks to her racy days at a 'nudist' college.
The US actress stars in the new comedy from the creators of SAG-winning Orange Is The New Black.
Confidence: Alison Brie has insisted she had no qualms about stripping off for her new role in wrestling drama GLOW, thanks to her racy days at a 'nudist' college
Alison plays Ruth, an out of work actress in the series that focuses on what goes on in the ring and their relationships with one another.
In a new interview with Playboy, the leading lady confesses 'I definitely did some push-ups and sit-ups in my room to pump up the right muscles beforehand.
And while she adds she's passed on previous projects which required nudity, she was 'obsessed' with landing the GLOW role, and knew nudity was an integral part of the character.

If you've got a black tie wedding to attend this summer then you'll no doubt be in the market for a maxi dress.
Full length looks have become de rigueur at weddings over the last few years and we like the formality and glamour they lend to proceedings. As long as you don't go for a long white dress then you're golden...
It's safest to avoid black too so we suggest trying sophisticated navy blue instead. Alison Brie is providing the inspiration today in this slinky gown by Jason Wu. We love the way it skims her figure and the sexily draped neckline.
The exact version isn't available online but you can buy this very similar style at Farfetch now (right). Or get the look for less with our edit of blue beauties below. Ghost has our top pick.

'Getting naked on camera is like ripping off a Band-Aid. The hardest part is the transition from being in your robe to being naked on set,' she mused. 'Once I was naked, it kind of reminded me of my nudist days from college and that feeling of, "Oh yeah, I love my body and this is fun and silly and its fine."'
Brie is referring to her student days at California Institute of the Arts, which she has previously described as 'sort of clothing optional' during her time there.
'I don't know what it's like now; even in the four years I was there, they had started to crack down,' she admitted to Playboy. 'My freshman year, the Erotic Ball was still happening. Everybody was in different states of undress. There were tents with TVs playing pornography.'
Nudity: While she adds she's passed on previous projects which required nudity, she was 'obsessed' with landing the GLOW role, and knew nudity was an integral part of the character
Meanwhile Dave Franco has gushed he has the 'coolest wife on planet Earth' because she thought his sex scene in The Little Hours was 'really sexy'.
The 32-year-old actor couldn't help but gush about Alison's reaction to his threesome scene in the new comedy that she stars in as well.
Speaking on Late Night with Seth Meyers, he said: 'I did the scene and it was fine. I went back to the hotel, and she asked how it was and I said it was totally cool.

'And we left it at that. It is what it is, we've both been doing this long enough to know that this is part of the job, it's a weird part of the job, but whatever ...
'Cut to a year later and we were watching the movie for the first time together and the threesome scene starts.
'The scene ended and there was silence, and she turned to me and said, 'That was really sexy.'' And that's the moment I knew I had the coolest wife on planet Earth.'
Meanwhile, Alison is equally nonplussed about her husband seeing her on-screen risqué scenes in GLOW.
Part of the job: Alison begins to seduce Dave in The Little Hours in a separate storyline from the infamous threesome sex scene
Asked if she's warned her husband about the scenes, she shared: 'Dave's a tough guy. He's fine.'
However, the 34-year-old beauty has warned the other man in her life - her father - 'at length' about the scenes.
She said: 'I've warned my dad at length. Then reminded him again, and then [I've] sort of given him a heads up of like, exact [moments], so he's warned.'
And Alison previously confessed she has had a very empowering year, having married Dave and landing the lead in GLOW.
She explained: 'Everything's great! I think it's a great time in my life. Not in, you know, our lives collectively, not necessarily globally, but being married.'
