Alice Black is a 14-year-old folk and western Americana singer-songwriter. Influenced by Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan, along with western music artists Joyce Woodson and Juni Fisher, Alice performs a blend of originals and 60's folk songs on guitar.

ALICE BLACK represents part of London’s new growth, contributing to a forward-looking cultural discourse as a fresh, young gallery with a wealth of insight and ambitious plans for their artists and collectors alike.
ALICE BLACK is a contemporary art gallery based in Soho, London. Working with a dynamic network of emerging and established international artists we reflect and celebrate the vitality and evolving nature of art today. Our programme spotlights empowered makers and critical thinkers and those who are progressively pushing the bounds of their medium or conceptual inquiry. There is a strong socio, political and environmental dimension to our programme which stems from a wish to support and champion artists whose practices deal with the pressures of our time. We founded the gallery upon the belief that in our market driven climate of short termism and artistic commodification, it is all too easy for real talent to fall by the wayside and for would be collectors to feel excluded from an often impenetrable art world. By generating a more fluid and inclusive culture between artist, community and gallerist, our hope is to unlock some of the compartmentalised, “behind-closed-doors” conventions of the art market. We see our London space as a productive ground for the formation of art and ideas: an environment created by the ongoing input of artists, collectors, curators, gallerists, writers, enthusiasts and the simply curious, with all of whom we collaborate. The gallery was Co-founded by Alice Black & Matt Symonds in May 2017. Alice Black has previously held positions at Stephen Friedman Gallery and Phillips Auction House. In March 2020 Forbes named Alice Black as one of their “30 under 30” to watch in European arts and culture. Matt Symonds is a London-based investor and art collector and Chairman of Nottingham Contemporary.
