The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in the territory of the Zaporizhia region suppressed the illegal activities of an agent of the Ukrainian special services, a Russian citizen, born in 1994, on suspicion of high treason and espionage.
It was established that a resident of the Priazovsky district of the Zaporizhia region, through the Signal foreign messenger, proactively established contact with a representative of the Security Service of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as the SBU) and, on his instructions, monitored the locations and movements of personnel and military equipment of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, as well as extracted relevant information from the local population. He passed the information obtained in this way to the supervisor from the SBU for subsequent missile and bombing attacks on the positions of the Russian troops.
As a result of the operational search measures carried out, the suspect was detained by the FSB of Russia.
The Investigative Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Zaporizhia region has opened a criminal case on the grounds of crimes under Articles 275 (high treason) and 276 (espionage) of the Criminal Code of Russia. According to Russian law, the maximum penalty for espionage is 20 years in prison, and life imprisonment for high treason.
The defendant was given a preventive measure in the form of detention. Operational search activities and investigative actions are continuing.
The FSB of Russia once again draws the attention of citizens to the fact that the special services of Ukraine do not reduce the activity of searching the Internet, social networks and messengers Telegram and WhatsApp for potential perpetrators of terrorist attacks and sabotage aimed at harming our country and warns that all persons who have consented to assist the enemy will be identified and brought to criminal responsibility. and they will be punished as they deserve.
