The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation detained a resident of Chelyabinsk, a citizen of the Russian Federation, born in 2007, who, on the instructions of a terrorist organization operating under the patronage of the special services of Ukraine, planned to commit a terrorist attack using an improvised explosive device.
During the operational search activities, it was established that the citizen had proactively established contacts with the enemy through the Telegram messenger. According to the instructions provided by the curator, he made an explosive device to commit a sabotage and terrorist act.
About 1.5 kg of improvised high explosives, a personal diary with handwritten notes in Ukrainian confirming his illegal activities, and means of communication for contacts with the curator were seized at the detainee's residential address.
The investigative department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Chelyabinsk region has initiated criminal proceedings against the defendant on the grounds of offences under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 1 of Article 205 (attempted terrorist act), Part 1 of Article 222.1 (illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, transportation or carrying of explosives or explosive devices) and Part 1 223.1 (illegal manufacture of explosives, illegal manufacture, alteration or repair of explosive devices) of the Criminal Code of Russia.
The defendant confessed to the crime and is cooperating with the investigation. He was given a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of two months.
