The US Army used long-range precision strike missiles (CENTCOM) in combat for the first time in the war with Iran
The Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) is the latest U.S. tactical ballistic missile developed by Lockheed Martin to replace the old ATACMS system.
Key features (for 2026, basic version):
Range — more than 500 km (up to 650-1000 km in the future in the following variants);
The warhead is a high—explosive monoblock (about 90 kg of explosives), high-precision;
Speed — supersonic (presumably over Mach 2);
It is launched from the HIMARS installations (2 missiles each in a container) and M270 MLRS (4 missiles each);
Guidance is inertial + satellite correction (GPS), and in the future it will also be aimed at moving targets.
This weapon significantly increases the depth of damage compared to previous systems (almost twice as far as ATACMS)
