Various bug fixes and performance improvements.
Very difficult to make routines or control things around the house. It should be much easier to see any decide or gadgets around the house, light bulbs or speakers, outlets. Still a lot to work on Alex’s capabilities to make her more efficient. I’ll be happy when in 1,2,3 minutes and she would be able to see and discover every new devise found in the house or any Bluetooth gadgets she did not know. Phone calls shouldn’t be a problem if Alexa is connected to my network regardless if she's connected to my phone call should be allowed and what's going in with WhatsApp? It's worldwide as possible why not to give her access to use it to call other countries? That's really a plus ++++. . Once Akexa has access to the network it should be easy to discover anything hooked up to the same network via Bluetooth or wifi it's all password protected and in the same house why d8es she need constant permission? She should be able to discover my car Ior husband car or the house or office callif she has been there once and access was granted why can't she always has clearance? Constantly having to connect her tiny cell if leave the house then she gets totally disconnected. Akexa should be able to call my cell in her own to ask if she should turn on the lights for my dogs. That's how efficient she should be and she's capable, just have to work the perks..?
Any person in their sixties needs to have this machine. This machine is invaluable to people who want to or need to live independently. It reminds you to take your medicine....read the reminder or Alexa will tell you the reminder. It’s a great way to stay in touch with an elderly person. Is Grandma still in her pajamas at 2:00 in the afternoon, not getting out even though she assures you that she’s up and dressed and has walked the dog? This machine allows you to “drop in” and see grandpa taking all of his meds. You can actually “drop in” on a lonely person and eat “together” even while you are in Delaware and your loved one is in Florida if you both have the Alexa Show. To know that an elderly person is exercising, being social, eating regularly, and taking meds......what a relief! Buy an Alexa Show right now so you can get “you and your loved-one” acclimated to the machine before you actually need it... that’s why I picked 60”s as a great age to buy it. It becomes part of your life and believe me, it is a life-saving tool. One more thing....it is easy to install and to use. I am not kidding! You will be so grateful that someone invented this machine! It’s so helpful.
Our sons and our bedroom are close together. He has an echo kids. When we say good morning Routine it plays on our echo in our bedroom instead of his bedroom. We constantly miss listening to our morning news and weather. Other than changing Alexa’s name we wish you could make Alexa ignore a 2,3,and 4 year old. It was cute at first but now it totally annoying to the point where we just want to get rid of Alexa and the 4 units we bought. I like being able not to have to talk to Alexa and being able to type commands or to switch buttons. I don’t like the volume control as it blasted as it jumps several volume levels at a time and help destroy my new very expensive speaker system on my stereo which also is hooked to sound our TV. This is bad having Alexa listen to your 3 year old crank up the volume. A lot would have to change for me to ever give it 5 stars. There are some nice features but are outweighed by the bad. Alexa needs more and better Setting Controls and a way to ignore small children who like to change music every 5 seconds. I want to turn on my garage lights first and after I scrolled through every other light in the house I finally arrive to where I can turn the switch on; you should be able to arrange the switches the way you want. Still haven’t figured Kids Free time out. Hard to have other main adult family members use the app too; only one master.

Wow. I'm really impressed with this tablet! I'm an Apple fan boy and have never touched an Android or Android-based device before, but I bought the Fire because I use a lot of Amazon services and just wanted a new gadget to play with. If you want a budget, cost-effective tablet, this is for you. If you want to compare this to an iPad, you'd probably be disappointed -- the screen quality is lower and the apps respond more slowly than on an iPad. PROS: -- Price -- I see a lot of generic, off-brand tablets advertised at this price that have specs that are inferior to this. -- Build quality -- nothing seems cheap or flimsy here. I haven't dropped it (yet), but I'd expect it to hold up well if I did. -- Amazon integration -- if you use Amazon services (Kindle books, music, Prime Video, etc.) then this is perfect for you because the links are built into the operating system -- Expandable storage -- one thing that Apple products are missing. 8GB will fill up fast, but you can cheaply and easily add more with a microSD -- Size -- if you want something for reading books or to use while traveling, this is nice. The form factor is easier to use with one hand versus an iPad mini -- Everything you'd expect in a tablet -- for the price, I thought that maybe corners would be cut or major features would be missing but that isn't the case. This has front and back cameras, decent speakers and Bluetooth. CONS: -- Honestly, when you consider that this costs just $50, I can't think of any reason NOT to buy this tablet. If you compare to an iPad, you'll probably see lots of places where the Fire is inferior. For example, the battery life isn't as good as my iPad mini, and the Fire display won't impress you if you're used to an iPad but it is perfectly good at this price point. The camera is usable but not great. Apps respond a bit slower than on my iPad, and the touch-screen isn't as precise. However, you'd really never notice any of those things if you don't regularly use a higher-priced tablet like an iPad. -- If you don't want to be locked into the Amazon ecosystem, this may not be for you. Although the OS is Andriod-based, you can't customize this as much as you can with a pure Android system. That isn't a problem for me because I do use Amazon services quite a bit. I was a little concerned that the "special offers" would be annoying, but they aren't a big deal at all. They only display on the lock screen and aren't intrusive. No big deal. Overall, I highly recommend this. If you need a budget tablet or if you're a first time tablet user, this would work very well for you. If you've already got an iPad and you want a second/backup tablet to use at work or for travel (which is how I'm using this) or as a dedicated Kindle device (which is how I thought I'd use this until I realized it can do much more), then you can't go wrong with this. The only reason not to buy it is if you're planning to use this as your main device and you want a high performance tablet like an iPad -- in that case, buy an iPad.

Let me begin with a moment of recognition for this FREAKING resilient piece of electronic wonder.... I bought this thing for my son almost 5 years ago. He is about to turn 12 now. He is AWFUL to devices. Let's be real, he is awful to about everything. Not on purpose, I will say on his behalf but, he is aloof and once his mind is occupied with one thing he forgets all else in the world temporarily. Honestly... this thing impresses me every time I see it still functioning after noticing it under a heap of blankets at the foot on my son's bed, lying face up on his desk with greasey fingerprints all over the screen, shoved into less than accommodating spaces, seemingly lifeless on the floor next to the dog's water dish. This Kindle has been passed from one overly zealous, sugared-up kid to another at sleepovers as they challenge each other in games, propped here and there while traveling down the YouTube rabbit hole, taken on road trips, camping (yes, he still does plenty of kid stuff in the dirt 🙄), boating, to school (against his better judgment and my rules), has been dropped more times than my son has cleaned his room in the same 5 years and has stood too many other tests to count. I could bring up that Kindle's platform lacks apps, especially games, when compared to Google-based Android tablets and iPads or knock the not-super-awesome screen or sound. However, those are minimal complaints when up against the monumental accomplishment of surviving for darn near FIVE YEARS with a boy child! The HOURS of Minecraft logged are uncountable, the nights streaming Pandora or calming sounds apps, a blessing. He has used this Kindle likely 4-5 days a week on average for the past 5 YEARS. That is some serious usage and time for any handheld device these days, let alone one with such a small monetary investment and one that has seen SO MUCH (unintentional) ABUSE! At one point I made a deal with my kiddo, that if he kept his room extra tidy daily and I saw a major improvement in his responsibility with his current device (this Kindle) I'd buy him a "nicer" one for Christmas. He followed through for a number of months leading up and I came through with the "nicer" tablet. So-called nicer tablet was an android device more compatible with our other Google app store run devices (phones, chromebook), had a bigger screen with better resolution and supposedly better touch and sound. Within only a few months, running the very same apps, that tablet went belly-up. First the sound failed, then the touch sensitivity began to decline, next an obvious slowing of the device, then the "black screen of death". Troubleshooting and rooting came with no success. What did my dear son think when his new, bigger, better device failed? He said, "I like my Kindle better anyway." That was a year ago and he's still happily building his Minecraft empire on his Kindle. I came here looking for what gen his Kindle was, thinking I'd get him an updated version this Christmas. But heck, I might just see this one through until it dies! A few months ago he sat down on the couch next to me with it and said it had been running a little slow. He said after minimal investigating he found he had stored tons of videos he and his friends made years ago he'd already back up along with games he no longer used on the quite modest 8GB storage. He told me after ditching those items it was back to running fast as new, even on our less-than-impressive home wifi. I suggest these be used to construct spaceship heat shields or to sooth angry, combative chimpanzees with interactive YouTube videos. They're missing their calling!
