This is so awesome and the best set of books ever by an artist. I would say he's the best artist yo ever live and he is here to share and inspire people like me to be in love w/ visionary art. He helps break out the best young painters and I am very sick in stage 4 w/ no cure and when I need a break from the stress or just hurting like no other I grab the books and flip through them. I recommend you buy this set and the softcover's first to keep for house guest. These will keep closed withe the brass clasp that comes with the two HARDCOPY books inside with separate folder that has 6 beautiful high quality images on the same high quality book paper and drawings, so it was a huge surprise to get the images because there great for art students, collectors and if you do want it can push you creatively to frame them or what not. Just can't wait for ENTHEON to be built and think it will be the pinnacle of a beginning for CoSM but like I said just the beginning this could be the enlightment the generations below need and are soldiers who have a lot to shake off after being in BATTLE. Are you kidding me, this is a glimpse of hope that there's a group of people who want to leave the earth better than when we where born and give back creatively to show Gaia( Mother Earth) that we appreciate the fresh water and clean air and that she has provided everything for us but money got involved and then drs instead of shamans and money pollutes the medical system to look for long time treatments instead of cures because there goal is to keep the dr.'s office filled to max out each day financially not so everyone gets help. I had a dr who set his watch and when the 10-15 minutes are done he's out the door because I only go see him every 6 months instead every month like my dr. Monitoring my condition and they do spend time w/ u and are learning from me what's going on because it's rare condition... Alex & allyson. Thanks for this set up. It rocks

A must for any conscious being wanting to heal themselves and the planet. Just by viewing the beautiful depictions that Grey has reproduced from the higher realms of consciousness you are instantly connected with the energy radiating from the pages. Works truly inspired by Divine Love :) And we all know the world can never have too much Love. As other reviews have pointed out, Visions itself is the name for the package which includes the two books "Sacred Mirrors" and "Transfigurations". Amazon recommends you buy these books with Visions. Unless you want two copies of either "Sacred Mirrors" or "Transfigurations" then there is no need to buy them with the Visions package.

Grab this great book of Grey as a gift. Excellent prints. Great gift for giving to Grey groupies.

The book is amazing, however it was either sent out damaged, or the poor packing job was the cause. The outer case is pretty much trash the way it was falling apart as soon as I opened the package.

Great book, beautiful artwork. Came as described. Relatively fast shipping, would purchase from this seller again :)

I bought this for my boyfriend for our anniversary and at first it was beautiful, but at a closer glance the binding was falling apart and the latch was falling off. For as much as I paid for this to be in "perfect" "new" conditions, it looked like a piece of crap.

These book and prints give you a very complete look at the amazing work of Alex Grey. He teaches through his paintings. You can't go wrong with this purchase!

My previous impression of Grey's work has always been positive, usually limited, however, to an album cover or random .jpeg. After seeing 'Visions' offered on Amazon for a decently reduced sticker price, I did a Google tour of his works and was sufficiently intrigued to purchase a copy. While I'm sure hardcore fans will love this, and appreciate the box that apparently doubles as an 'altar', the sickly sweet blend of Near-Buddhism and mystical new-age ingredients quickly became annoying. 'Transfigurations', one of the two volumes included in the boxset, is enough to provide a satisfying overview of Grey's interesting development as an artist, with numerous examples of his best works. The design and layout are uninspired, but the work is always interesting. His visionary style incorporates anatomical perspectives combined with psychedelic depictions of spiritual energies mapped out as they shift and intersect with other fields generated by organisms and environments. His palette and patterns have an oriental influence, but he is also indebted to the great visionary artists, from Blake to Fuchs. While on the surface his paintings seem to have dark themes, owing to the flayed, grotesque appearance of his subjects, most are actually mundane x-ray snapshots: a father reading to his child, a couple kissing, a couple having sex, childbirth, etc. The sentimental leanings that attempt to celebrate the little miracles of life are more akin to Norman Rockwell than Irving Norman, and left me wishing he might suffer a crisis of faith that could yield a greater percentage of darker, more challenging canvases. The other volume, 'Sacred Mirrors', is shorter than the first, and features lesser works related to the homemade religion and it's accompanying 'Chapel of Sacred Mirrors'. I don't need to drink an artists' spiritual koolaid in order to appreciate their art; but Grey's species of glassy-eyed, frozen-smiled faith makes me sleepy. I have to admit that the oversized 'altar' is pretty cool, though.

the rest in very good condition. Beautiful pictures - lot's in this box ...

Was very lucky in able to get this at an ' acceptable ' price rate - it really was just the outer box though, the rest in very good condition. Beautiful pictures - lot's in this box set.

An Interesting Artist, But Overall Redundant, Disappointingly Saccharine, and Overpriced

My previous impression of Grey's work has always been positive, usually limited, however, to an album cover (Tool) or random .jpeg. After seeing 'Visions' offered on Amazon for a decently reduced sticker price, I did a Google tour of his works and was sufficiently intrigued to purchase a copy, even though I've never spent more than $100 on an artist essentially new to me. The fault is mine for not starting off with a cheaper introduction; while I'm sure hardcore fans appreciate the box that apparently doubles as an 'altar', as well as the sickly sweet blend of buddhism and various mystical new-age ingredients that becomes more and more cloying the longer I read. In retrospect, 'Transfigurations', one of the two volumes included in the boxset, is enough to provide a satisfying overview of Grey's interesting development as an artist, with numerous examples of his best works. I have to admit that the oversized 'altar' is pretty cool, but it doesn't justify the pricetag, especially the $200 MSRP.

Buen producto

Muy buen box, lo único malo fue que llegó dañada la caja, ya que al parecer no reforzaron el empaque, de ahí en fuera lo demás está en buenas condiciones
