BREAKING NEWS: Alex Caruso Traded to the New York Knicks in Stunning Offseason Move

In a blockbuster trade that has sent shockwaves through the NBA, the Chicago Bulls have agreed to send defensive stalwart Alex Caruso to the New York Knicks in exchange for a future first-round pick and two second-round selections.

The deal, finalized early this morning, reunites Caruso with former Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach (and current Knicks head coach) Tom Thibodeau, who has long admired the guard’s tenacity and basketball IQ. Caruso, known for his elite perimeter defense and clutch play, is expected to bolster the Knicks’ backcourt as they push for championship contention next season.

'Alex is a winner,' Thibodeau said in a press release. 'His ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor is exactly what we need. We’re thrilled to have him in New York.'

Caruso, 30, averaged 9.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game last season while earning All-Defensive Second Team honors. His arrival in New York adds another layer to an already formidable Knicks squad featuring Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, and OG Anunoby.

Meanwhile, Bulls fans expressed mixed emotions on social media, with many lamenting the loss of a fan favorite but acknowledging the team’s shift toward rebuilding. Chicago is rumored to be eyeing young talent in the upcoming draft.

Caruso took to Instagram shortly after the news broke, posting: 'Excited for the next chapter. Let’s work, NYC!'
