In fact, Taryn bought Alektra a plane ticket to Los Angeles, California, so that she could fly out and film her first ever sex scenes for the 3rd Degree porn production Fresh Pink (2005) . When was asked about her adult film industry debut within her November 2007 XRentDVD interview, Alektra explained how;
“Taryn Thomas and I actually used to work at a call center together a long, long time ago. We both lived in Arizona and we were friends from there. I moved to Texas and while I was bartending out there she called me. She told me that she had gotten into porn. I was surprised and said, ‘what? No way!’ She told me she was trying to get a hold of me and that I should try it out. She went on to say, ‘you can make a lot of money and you are way more sexual than I am. You have to try it out. I’ll fly you out and you can try it out. If you don’t like it you can fly home.’ I wasn’t sure but she told me I needed to hurry up and decide. So the next day she called me back on a Friday and I flew out on a Monday and started doing porn and haven’t stopped…
I asked my mom and my mom said,’ sure, try it out and if you don’t like it you can come back.’ So I took a chance. I wasn’t sure if I would like it. I was thinking I would come back in two days but I ended up staying for quite a while…I stayed for about a month and then I came back to Texas for about a week. Then I went back again. (laughs)…I started meeting people and everyone is really nice. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. (laughs) The money was really good so I guess that is what kept me around”.

“I thought it took more hours in the day to film a scene. I thought it was an all day type of thing. I didn’t know that you just basically go in, do it and leave. (laughs) It was just a lot more comfortable than I thought it would be. I was really comfortable with doing it, obviously. I thought it would be more nerve wracking. I thought I would be more nervous having sex on camera with a person I don’t know. I thought it would be weird but as it turned out, it wasn’t that weird for me…I’ve always been addicted to sex. I have always been a real sexual person. When it comes to sex I am not really shy”.
After making her adult film industry debut, Alektra quickly garnered a devoted fan following which resulted in her being nominated for “Best New Starlet” at the 2006 AVN Awards and winning the coveted “Favourite Female Rookie” accolade at the 2006 F.A.M.E.
