Alcapod Pod Software Review (May 2020)

They've been doing a lot of work behind the scenes for the last little while with COVID-19 happening.

The developers captain data over in France, they're they've they've been under some pretty difficult circumstances for the last little while.

Alcapod has done a wonderful job of building their engagement pod community for free and bootstrapping it.

So I gotta give credit where credit is due here as well.

Let's get into that a little bit.

So Alcapod is aiming to start monetizing their software by the end of the month, probably closer to next month.

They've, they've had a few hiccups in terms of not having enough randomness incorporated into the software, making it easier to detect by the LinkedIn algorithm.

So to jump in a functionality with Alcapod currently it is not as good as Lempod.

There is auto-liking an auto-commenting, which is essential but they also have auto approving.

So if you don't want posts to be auto-approved in a Alcapod pod you own, then you can approve the manually.

Now this has actually got a bit of a downside though, because if you're approving a whole bunch of posts at once, once it's going to cause problems with the engagement pod network and it's going to look very mechanical when a bunch of random posts get engaged by the exact same people several times.

The larger the pod, as you know, through engagement pod safety the worst the easier it's going to be to detect.

So the auto-approve post is actually kind of a hit or miss.

It's a great idea, but they need to keep developing that a little bit more.

Cause in its current state, it's it's turned out to be a bit dangerous for for members.

So I like to use Alcapod at the moment to drip feed after my initial Lempod engagement.

Now, another issue with Alcapod in terms of functionality is there is no interval between pod engagements.

You could choose 20 seconds, 40 seconds, a minute, two minutes, or five minutes between engagements.

It's actually based currently on the size of the pod, how many people are in it, which is not not ideal.

So they don't really have the same kind of functionality that the Lempod software does.

So in this current form, Alcapod lacks in user interface and pod safety features that keep people's accounts safe from being banned or flagged.

Alcapod can be a little bit risky, unless you're in a engagement pods like the community I'm building, that have measures in place to prevent a risky engagement behaviour and that kind of thing.

So in terms of, so with that said regarding pod safety and Alcapod, a pod safety was not a primary driver in the initial software development of Alcapod.

To be specific, there's no random order of engagements between pod users.

So basically it's the same people in the same order, in that pod engaging with different posts.

It looks very predictable engagement pattern and it's a big problem in terms of pod safety.

So if you're in a multiple pods with the same person and auto commenting is settled, then they'll actually end up multiple times auto-commenting on your posts.

That's an issue they need to fix.

Now I understand that that's going to be a drop down to 200 soon.

Guillaume who I spoke with at Alcapod, Captain Data, said that they're gonna also be limiting the number of people within the pod who do engage.

So if you're in a 200 member pod, maybe only 50 members maximum will engage and it will be much more randomized, which would be really preferable.

We can hopefully expect to see something like that in the near future in their latest engagement pods update, software update.

The other big issue in terms of pod safety for Alcapod is that you can't easily find and connect with people that are in your engagement pods.

You just click into your pod so it's on the profile of the member and then it takes you directly to that member.

I understand that in the next update they will incorporate that as well.

In its current state, Alcapod is not really it's locking in a lot of safety features.
