Airtel 3.5 GB Internet Data Plan For N1,500 Review

Bazemaster

Having discontinued the Blackberry internet data plans, Airtel still maintained one of its Blackberry data plans. I remember when the vogue is to use a Blackberry internet plan on Android. It worked well until all major stakeholders in the mobile world decided it was time for BlackBerry OS 7 and below to phase out. Major online advisers campaigned for Airtel 3.5 GB Internet Data Plan, which works across all devices. All including Blackberry, Laptops, Modems, Smartphones, etc. Airtel in disguise still offers this service as the cheapest plan on Android. Annoyingly, they claim it works on all devices.

As my search for "cheap and fast" internet data plans on Android failed, I returned to Airtel. The easiest way to subscribe is to dial *141# and navigate the list. I did and I saw a tempting offer: 2.5 GB + 1 GB (1 AM - 7 AM ) plan. Damn, this is the cheapest plan on the whole internet network, and it is coming from the third most trusted network in Nigeria. Any doubt? Use your mobile phone and check across all network and confirm that this is very cheap. And it works for 24/7.

My experience using 9Mobile Night and Weekend plan led me to try this offer. When it comes to the cheapest internet data plans, GLO offers the cheapest on their crap network. Call their customer care and they advise you to change your location, like WTF! Followed by Airtel, MTN internet data plans, and 9Mobile network. Following the fastest and reliable services, go in the backward direction. Funny how Nigeria internet data plans are costlier if you want a fast and reliable one.

Airtel - "The Smartphone network" offers 3.5 GB internet data plan for N1,500 usable on all devices. But the truth is, it doesn't work on all devices. It works on some very well and it doesn't work on a few mobile devices. If you have any objection, don't forget to use the comment box.

How Airtel 3.5 GB Internet Data Plan For N1,500 Works

If you are unlucky, this plan will frustrate your online activities with constant on and off HSDPA+ services. The network will switch off automatically, and in few seconds will switch itself on. It fluctuates like the sine wave, no stability whatsoever. The sad truth is that only this plan is affected by this type of change. Any complaints to your neighbors using other Airtel internet data plans will be shocking. They can't believe it. It doesn't affect them.

Airtel 3.5 GB Internet Data Plan works on all devices, but the network may frustrate your usage of such a plan. This is only for the unlucky ones. I happened to fall into the circle. You cannot stay online for three minutes without your data switching off. So annoying! It reminded me of how I angrily removed my GLO SIM card and chewed it up. I wonder how someone can have more than 5.5 GB of internet data and cannot use it. It frustrates your online work.

For unlucky ones, this plan can make your downloads to fail, uploads to stop halfway, and for your web pages to stop loading in between. It is better you subscribe to other Airtel internet data plans available. But you can try this cheap plan to know your condition.

You can subscribe to this plan by dialing *141# >> 1 >> 2 >> 2. You will see 2.5 GB + 1 GB (1 AM - 7 AM ) usable on all devices. If you are facing issues with this internet data plan, there are ways to enjoy this plan. For the majority, Airtel 3.5 GB Internet Data Plan for N1,500 is their redeemer.

Solutions:

  • Change your Network mode to GSM only. This can be done from the Mobile network settings on your phone. The GPRS mode makes it stable at a very low speed. A webpage can take more than five minutes to load. But your internet stability is guaranteed.
  • Put the affected SIM card on another device. Preferably, an MTK device. Like some Tecno, Infinix, etc phones. This seems to be the best option. You can hotspot with the device and connect other devices.

It is important to note that other Airtel internet data plans work without glitches. To see their offers, dial *141# and respond with keystrokes. Airtel 3.5 GB Internet Data Plan For N1,500 is the cheapest internet data plan you can use now. And if you get unlucky, apply the above solutions.

Solve GPSD Problem On Some Samsung Devices

If your mobile phone is a Samsung device, there are chances you might have seen GPSD battery drain on your device. This is due to network activating GPS automatically once you switch on your internet data. The problem here is that you can't turn it off. There is no way to turn off the GPSD battery killer. MTN, GLO, and Airtel turn your GPS on when you switch your internet connection. Only 9Mobile (as at this time I'm writing this) doesn't do this.

The solution available to this problem is to:

  • Change your Network mode to GSM only. This can be done from the Mobile network settings on your phone. Anytime you are not making use of internet or browsing few web pages, let your Network mode be on GSM. This will not activate the GPSD issue.
  • Put your MTN, GLO, or Airtel SIM card on an MTK device. Like some Tecno, Infinix, etc phones. Then manually switch off your GPS every time it turns on. This seems to be the best option. You can hotspot with the device and connect other devices.
  • Buy a MiFi and put your SIM card there. Use the default hotspot connection to browse on all your devices.
