Can an aggressive riding position work for longer rides? Perhaps this is a naive question: How can I know if I'll be okay with a more aggressive riding position for longer tours, if I haven't ridden long distance yet? I'm looking at a Husqvarna for my first bike.
Same with being aggressive. Riding crazily can be okay if you ride in a predictable manner around other motorists (i.e. the occasional hoon isn't particularly unsafe). I've been on rides where people go over 150kph on roads marked as 80kph and frankly, losing my licence over doing that is lame.

Talking about aggressive riding, and pro versus amateur positions really doesn't make sense. We all need to pedal in our own bio-mechanically correct position.
The more aggressive the riding position, the more weight will be placed on your hands, and the more you will have to crane your neck to see where you're going. Both can be fatiguing on long rides. Unless you are riding competitively, my recommendation would be to err towards a relaxed position.
