This Squeegee is hard to rate because they work great when you get a good one, but in my experience that is a gamble! I usually buy these from the local hardware store (Lowes), but ordered one from Amazon a couple months back because for whatever reason my local store had been out of stock for 3-4 months. I couldn't remember the pricing at the local store, but knew they were a little high on Amazon. I thought maybe there were different grades of quality because of the significant pricing difference. The Amazon ordered squeegee was NOT better than the local store and is comparatively extremely expensive! The edge came loose in 2 days making the purchase a complete waste. I could buy 3 of them locally for the price of one here on Amazon. Definitely check your local stores before ordering online, there is no benefit for the severe upcharge (and yes, the local store model is the 8" exactly like this one)! As for the particular issues with these squeegees, it has always been the edge separating from the body for me. You either get lucky and they seem to work great and last a long time, or the edge comes loose in less than a week and they become worthless. It's about a 50/50 chance in my experience. I have tried other bathroom squeegees (and even some non-bathroom ones) and when they edge stays put, these work better than any other type I have tried. Most other squeegees have an edge that is too hard and inflexible and it takes 2-3 weeks for them to wear out enough to start working decently. The handle angles also seemed wrong for our heavily contoured bathtub and surround. Other brands want to skip or drag and miss spots until they break in. The edge on the Quickie model seems to have the perfect give to tension ratio and I can wipe down my bathtub quickly and completely with them. The handle angling is also very good and feels very controllable and comfortable. When the edge is loose however, it starts to separate pretty much after the first use and within a week they are virtually useless. I don't know why Quickie insists on gluing the edge on these. Several other squeegee brands I have purchased actually hold the edge in a groove cut into the plastic, kind of like a windshield wiper blade. I believe you could even replace the edge on those, and they were only $2-$3 more. They didn't shed water as well as the Quickie, but they lasted forever, the edge never budged on them. If Quickie would tighten up their quality control or adjust the design a little bit, these would hands down be the best squeegee for a bathtub. Still are, if you don't mind buying 2-3 to get one that lasts!
Edited to add: This is the LARGER, more appropriate size that reflects the original size and not the current smaller one (6" long) available by other vendors - be sure to check the dimensions by other sellers - you want the one that is 8" long. I've tried them all, expensive and non, and have finally realized THIS one is the best ... and so inexpensive (I've even bought one for $24 in chrome and it's terrible!). This will ALWAYS be the one I buy and replace with. After a couple of years, the flexible, silicone-like edge starts to wear and won't give a clean swipe as when new and then I know it time to replace. A terrific product. The ergonomic shape is also what helps this earn the 5 stars. The angled bend in the handle is just perfect - every other one I've bought is NOT!!! It's well-thought out and I love it.
I ordered two of these. On arrival the rubber blade was starting to separate from the handle. It appears that the rubber blade is just glued to the plastic. It looked like the blade would quickly separate from the plastic handle. I returned them both.
Works perfectly for the shower door and walls. Much superior to the six inch model. Don't expect the blade to last very long before coming unglued but removes the water with single stroke.
Arrived with blade peeling from frame. Very poor quality, should have been noticed when packaging item
