Corrie’s Ellie Leach admits she ‘didn’t imagine’ she’d still be playing Faye Windass after 10 years

She first stepped foot onto the cobbles as a wide-eyed nine-year-old back in 2011, playing the adopted daughter of Eddie and Anna Windass.
And Ellie Leach admitted that she ‘definitely didn’t imagine’ portraying Coronation Street’s Faye Windass 10 years later as she remarked: ‘I feel like I’ve been there my whole life.’
In a new interview, the actress, 19, reflected on her decade-long role and said she hopes she stays in her job ‘forever’.
During her 10 years on the Manchester-based soap, Ellie has been part of some huge storylines, most notably her character Faye giving birth to a daughter aged just 12.
While most recently, she’s had to endure the a sexual assault at the hands of her sleazy boss Ray Crosby.
Looking back on her time on the show, Ellie told The Mirror: ‘It is crazy to think it is 10 years. It has gone so fast but I also feel like I have been there my whole life.
‘For what time I can remember, Corrie has been my life. As a child, you just can’t believe it. You don’t really know at that age what is happening. Really surreal.’
She added: ‘I definitely didn’t imagine I would still be here 10 years later. I am the type who doesn’t like to think too far into the future. I hope I am there forever.’
The beauty gushed that being part of the Corrie cast is an ‘amazing job’ and she ‘loves’ being there.
And while joining the iconic soap at such a young age may have been daunting, Ellie luckily had the guidance of her older cousin Brooke Vincent, 28, who plays Sophie Webster.
Ellie told the publication that Brooke – who is currently on maternity leave – was quick to offer her support and advice after learning that she’d got the role, telling Ellie that she was there for her if she needed anything.
With regular appearances on prime time TV, Ellie has become a household name, but she insists that she’s been ‘kept grounded’ by her mum and dad.
She went on to say that she ‘wouldn’t be any different’ thanks to the ‘guidance’ from her parents.
Adding that she has her head firmly ‘screwed on’ thanks to growing up in the TV industry and working with adults from a young age.
Meanwhile, there’s some dramatic times times ahead for Ellie’s character Faye amid the repercussions on her recent attack on Adam Barlow.
The waitress wrongly lashed out at Adam think he was Ray, resulting in the lawyer ending up seriously ill in hospital.
Her brother Gary Windass took the blame for the attack, but a guilty Faye later handed herself into the police and confessed the truth.
But what does the future hold for Faye? Viewers will just have to wait and see.

«Генеральной прокуратуре РФ провести проверку содержащихся в заслушанных на заседании Совета при президенте по развитию гражданского общества и правам человека 10 декабря 2020 года докладах сведений об оказании незаконного воздействия на фигурантов уголовных дел», — говорится в сообщении.
Срок подготовки отчетов — до 1 июня, ответственным назначен генпрокурор Игорь Краснов.
О проблеме незаконного воздействия на фигурантов уголовных дел на встрече Путина с правозащитниками 10 декабря сообщил член президентского совета по правам человека Евгений Мысловский. Он отметил, что в уголовном правосудии возникли «весьма тревожные тенденции».
«В обществе ускоренно распространяется мнение: то, что сейчас творится в судах, трудно назвать правосудием. Суды превратились в жалкий придаток предварительного следствия, а прокуратура при следствии словно прислуга при барыне. <...> Следствием очень широко стали применяться методы, которые я бы назвал процессуальным терроризмом, иными словами, усердие не по разуму», — заявил он.
В качестве подтверждения своих слов Мысловский привел несколько примеров, в том числе обыск у нижегородской журналистки Ирины Славиной и ее последующее самоубийство. Силовики провели у нее обыск ранним утром. Как сообщала сама журналистка, ей позволили одеться только под присмотром постороннего человека и не дали позвонить адвокату. На следующий день Славина покончила с собой около здания регионального управления МВД, оставив в Facebook запись: «В моей смерти прошу винить Российскую Федерацию».
В Следственном комитете связь между самоубийством Славиной и проводившимся обыском исключили. Смысловский, в свою очередь, заявил «о совершенно необоснованных, непродуманных действиях при проведении следственных мероприятий». «Это излишнее применение чисто силовых методов, направленных на психологическое устрашение, привлечение сил СОБРа или ОМОНа при проведении обысков у свидетелей, производство обысков в пять часов утра со взламыванием входных дверей, изъятие без разбора всей домашней техники с последующим неоправданным удержанием ее у следователей, незаконное применение задержания и ареста в качестве меры устрашения», — сказал он.
Путин, в свою очередь, заявил, что смерть Славиной напрямую не связана со злоупотреблениями со стороны следствия. «Я просто не понимаю тогда, что было причиной суицида, если она не была даже [фигуранткой дела]», — сказал он. Мысловский ответил, что это вопрос психики, поскольку журналистке «казалось, что ее там затравили». «То есть вы сказали, что она была неуравновешенным человеком психически. <...> То есть это напрямую не связано все-таки с какими-то злоупотреблениями со стороны органов следствия», — отметил президент.
Чтобы разрешить проблему, Мысловский предложил президенту создать «внешнего сторожа», например российский суд по правам человека. Путин назвал эту идею правильной, однако отметил, что ее надо доработать с учетом требований финансирования. 1 февраля президент поручил Верховному суду и Минюсту изучить вопрос создания в России суда по правам человека.

Messi's superb goal came on the same day the Argentinian's bumper Barcelona contract was leaked by Spanish newspaper El Mundo.
The shocking and revealing report showed Messi's current deal will end up costing Barcelona €555million (£492m) when it concludes this summer. The four-year deal was signed in 2017 and will end this June when the 33-year-old will be able to leave for nothing.
Messi has been guaranteed €138m (£122m) a season in gross salary according to the leaked contract.
He earned a 'renewal fee' of €115m (£102m) for accepting the contract and is said to take home €79m (£69m) each year in a 'loyalty' bonus for staying at the Nou Camp.
The report from El Mundo goes on to claim that Messi still has five months left on his current deal and has already earned an eye-watering £452m (€511m) so far.
As a part of his current deal, Messi earned an extra £616,172 (€695,748) for winning FIFA's Best Player award during the 2018-19 campaign.
The Argentine is also guaranteed a whopping £3.1m (€3.5m) if Barcelona win the Champions League – something the club hasn't achieved since 2015.
Other variables include Messi banking another £1.75m (€1.9m) if he plays 60 per cent of games while he will receive extra payments each knockout stage of the Champions League he reached, as well as winning LaLiga and the Copa del Rey.
The leak has infuriated Messi's camp who are now looking to prepare a lawsuit against El Mundo as a result.
Messi's contract reveal comes days after the club published their financial report for 2019-20 which revealed a gross debt of €1.2billion (£1bn).
That debt includes a short-term debt of €720m (£638m), €266m (£236m) of which is owed to various banks and financial institutions and needs to be paid before June 30.
