The beauty of black skin comes in its diverse and radiant nature. Black women come in a variety of different shapes, sizes, and backgrounds from all walks of this earth. Our skin tones are often the talk of society in both positive and negative ways. While the culture surrounding shades of black skin has been politicized and almost demonized, it is time to highlight and celebrate the beauty in all of our lovely tones and how they are so similar and so different in many ways.

Our sisters who fall within this shade range tend to have very light, sometimes pale, skin tones that can be sensitive in the sun without proper protection. It is not uncommon to see freckles and other spots on this delicate skin type.
Though ladies that fall within this range can be a variety of undertones, it is most likely to see people of this shade with blue, yellow, or green undertones. These ladies sometimes burn in the sun, but it does not keep their porcelain tones from shining bright and vibrant!

This warm, buttery shade is still light in pigment but less likely to burn than her fairer counterparts. This skin tone tends to tan, adding a beautiful golden glow that can darken by a couple of shades giving off the perfect summer vibes.
Their undertone tends to stay in the golden yellow range, but many ladies also fall into cool red undertones. This skin tone can fluctuate between fair and tan. It is not uncommon to see these ladies fit in the fine and fair category after an unusually long winter away from the sun.

Their undertones may not seem as noticeable at first glance, but when highlighted and set against the right colors these ladies glow like molten gold crafted straight from the sun.

Peanut butter truffle tone. I thought of my skin as being the shade of peanut butter. This makes me feel good and pretty.

When describing a person we should use these terms instead of “black”, “white”, “brown”, etc. Then we could drop classifying people by race.
At least now I know which category I fall in, milk chocolate skin.
I’m in between peanut butter truffle and alluring amber skin tone. Like my neck, chest, breasts, inner arms, thighs and parts of my leg is more like peanut butter truffle, and the rest is alluring amber. Now since I’ve gotta tan, it’s like a shade or two darker. So I’m like in between # 3 and 4. This has been quite helpful.
I have got #2 skin color, pretty pecan brown skin. People used to call me white posh kid just because I am light and have wavy hair and freckles, its so unfair.
I have delicious cacao skin. I really don’t care, I love my skin its really unique.
I have real dark skin so I’m in between an espresso and cacao. I find this very helpful and I love this because it includes the dark skins too.
I like the skin I’m in (Peanut butter). But I’m drawn to Cocao skin, in friends, mates, etc. Why is that?

We are all different shades of beautiful brown’s. Made from the dust Of the earth. From the deepest brown, reddest brown, caramel brown, vanilla brown & so on. Nothing pure black or pure white.
I have no clue with my skin tone is. My face is darker then my body. It doesn’t matter how much I try to get my face and body the same tone (complexion) the sun is doing it’s work on my face.
I’m the pecan brown tone, my younger sister is the peanut butter truffle and my aunt and my cousin are the marshmallow tone. We are mixed race and we come in various tones. The human race is a beautiful thing.
