Affiliates talks: Evgeniy «Google Ads Guru»

We’ve recently interviewed Evgeniy Google Ads Guru! Evgeniy has been doing affiliate marketing for 6 years already, driving Google traffic with his team. He was happy to tell us about the intricacies of working with Google, its prospects, moderation, campaign approaches, and so much more. If you do consider Google as a possible traffic source for your future or already work with it, then we recommend you read this article. Evgeniy’s Telegram contact information @evgentouch1

1.  Hello, Evgeniy! Once you said that you used to work as a loader and a waiter before affiliate marketing. How come you became a successful affiliate? How did you begin your career?

Back then, I worked as a waiter and was earning around 40 thousand rubles (which was alright for 2015 and the small town I worked in). Then, my current partner called me and offered that we start working with ads online. He had already had some experience with Google, somewhat like 2-3 years. He told me I could get the same 30 thousand rubles at home, without having to cater to people. So I didn’t think about it much and agreed to his offer right away. This is how I started in affiliate marketing.

2. You have a team. Tell us about it, are you currently looking to hire affiliates? What working conditions can you offer?

Yes, I do have a team. It’s divided into 2 sections: Google Display direct traffic and offer-wall traffic. The team has more or less 15 people and 1 office but the majority of the employees work remotely. We aren’t looking to hire affiliates.

3. Tell us, do you only work with Google? Or do you also drive Facebook or maybe TikTok traffic?

Google’s been our main traffic source for these 6 years. We have tested Facebook too but realized that Google is more stable and has higher quality traffic. And, the competition on Google is extremely low.

4.  Search traffic is considered to be one of the best types of traffic. How much better is Google traffic than traffic from other large search engines? You’ve probably compared different approval rates, right?

Search traffic is limited by queries but leads convert so much better when you find your target audience. We have compared traffic from Google’s Display Network and Facebook. Google does have better approval rates and a higher percentage of bought products, but those numbers aren’t drastically different from Facebook’s.

5.  Please tell us, is working with Google so much more comfortable than with other notorious traffic sources? Is it easier or harder to work with content cloaking, optimizing and scaling ad campaigns, preparing ad accounts for launches, affiliate marketing supplies, in terms of working with Google?

As far as we know, Google is already very natural for our team, this traffic source is well-explored by us. I don’t think that cloaking and campaign optimizing are very different here than on other traffic sources. But we do spend a lot of time preparing accounts for launches and spend over 100 euro to test each of our accounts.

We can’t really compare our source to others, we only work with this one and don’t spend time on others. As much as I know, Facebook constantly bans its advertisers. Google is way more gentle in this regard.

6.  What verticals can you drive Google traffic with? Which verticals do you work with?

You can advertise anything on Google, you just need to know how to do it. We mostly work with nutra.

7.  Tell us about one of your highly profitable cases from the past 3-4 months. What profit did you get? How did you get that result? How often do you think you can count on your luck?

We’ve recently had a 250-300% of stable ROI in Hungary. I won’t tell you which offer that was but I can tell you that it’s one of the old ones. Success comes after hard work on pre-landing pages. Don’t think that your campaign will blow up because of nothing. Always consider the basics of marketing and human psychology.

8.  You once mentioned that you don’t use proxies and anti-detection browsers. Please tell us, which services and supplies do you use in your work?

You can work using anti-detection browsers, proxies, or however else you’d like. There are ground rules of what you can and cannot do. If you follow those rules, you can build your campaign approach according to your individual needs. Our approach is located where our cloaking service works. In an apartment with our money, obviously.

9.  How do you test a campaign approach on Google? What do you have to consider first? Please explain it in brief terms.

First, you set up your offer’s targeting, then set the time when your audience is googling their queries on Google. Then, you upload your teasers, get yourself 3-4 pre-landing pages and 2-3 landing pages, and start looking at your TR, CR, CTR. Then try to find the most profitable campaign approach. That’s it.

10.  Do you only work with Google’s Display Network or do you also drive search traffic?

GDN only.

11.  When Google bans, it bans everything that’s connected to the banned account. Where do you find so many supplies for your accounts – online bank cards, phone numbers?

Always look for more options. We’re all online, so we can find anything on here, if we’re determined enough. We have our trusted sources where we can take those supplies from. We’ve got enough places over these 6 years.

12.  How can you peep at other affiliates’ creatives and other promo materials? Facebook has spying services but there is no software for Google.

Yes, there are almost zero ways to spy on your competitors on Google. This way, I don’t worry that my campaign approach will be stolen.

13.  Facebook’s beginner affiliates always have it hard with all the tech intricacies, with launching ads, creatives, landing pages, moderation. Based on your experience, can you recommend Google as a traffic source for beginners?

In order to see Google as a traffic source, one needs to have a lot of patience and perseverance. Moreover, there isn’t that much information about working with Google traffic on the internet. You can use my consulting services, by the way.

14.  Don’t your competitors purposefully click on your ads? If so, then how do you fight that?

Google fights fraud clicks on its own, and it’s nearly impossible to forge clicks on GDN. Even if frauds do do that, Google will still reimburse me later, so there’s no point in even trying to do that.

15.  Is Google a stable traffic source? Facebook, for example, has hard times once a month. Let alone, affiliates have serious problems once every quarter. How does Google treat its advertisers?

Google is very stable, it’s so rare that they want to hunt ‘frauds’ down.

16.  Is there a point in shifting from Facebook to Google, for an experienced affiliate that drives nice ROIs on Facebook but gets tired of its challenges? What would they need to move to Google?

If you’re a pro on Facebook, then I wouldn’t shift in-between sources, if I were you. And if I’d want to do that, then I guess, I’m not even that much of a pro. As I said, one needs a lot of patience and perseverance to crack Google’s ways. And, of course, a big budget for running tests.

17.  Please, give some advice to those that have read the entire article.

No one can teach you to earn money, stop believing that
