The minimum number of activations required to activate a certificate is the Avg Activation Key (AAK). It is also called the Primary Key www avg com retail.

The AAK has only one use and that is the creation of the Primary Key. In most of the cases, the Avg Activation Key is utilized after other multiple uses, which have been set in the database before a given transaction.

Thus, the Primary Key is never reused for another purpose. The Primary Key can be seen as the body of a SQL Server Database.

The Avg Activation Key is used for a variety of functions. It has the following capabilities:

The Avg Activation Key enables a client computer to send its first collection of Key Events before the Primary Key has been used. The value of the Avg Activation Key determines the value of the Primary Key. avg.com/retail

The Avg Activation Key allows the client computer to be configured with an Application Protocol. It enables the Application Protocol to perform queries before the SQL Server Client Agent can. There is also a connection timeout after which the client computer will not have the ability to perform queries.

The Avg Activation Key will result in the Value of the Primary Key being stored inside the Database if the Max Get KeyID command is executed on the SQL Server. This provides a means of activating the Primary Key. Note that there is a one-time function where the value of the Avg Activation Key is multiplied by 10 in order to prevent excessive use of the Avg Activation Key.

When the Avg Activation Key is deleted, the client computer must first attempt to recover the value of the Primary Key, and if unsuccessful will simply delete the value of the Avg Activation Key. However, if there are other various events which will require a Key Event, the client computer will attempt to retrieve the value of the Avg Activation Key. If it fails to retrieve the value of the Avg Activation Key, it will then attempt to retrieve the primary key value.

The same processes apply to the activation of a Certificate. For example, when the certificate's CA Certificate is revoked, it will attempt to recover the Avg Activation Key. The amount of time this takes will depend on the CA Certificate and the length of time the application has been active.

It should be noted that the use of the Avg Activation Key is not recommended. If you use the Avg Activation Key, you should perform SQL Server Updates to enable the client computer to acquire the data which is necessary to complete the application.

There are times when there is no use for the Avg Activation Key, but other times when the Avg Activation Key may be required. By understanding this, you can determine which situations arise, and when you require the Avg Activation Key www.avg.com/registration.
