Does anyone have any suggestions for how to minimize 60 Hz in my precision sensor application

Is there a maximum limit to the size carbon based life can grow?
I mean the RISUG/Vasalgel set are sort of like that. It's been a real disappointment how many funding issues that set has incurred. As well as lack of interest issues in doing the trials. It really does seem like a promising method for men from everything I've read of it. Feels like all the funding for this current drug should really be going towards getting the RISUG/Vasalgel method to market instead.
yes! AUGH I cant believe this testosterone blocking shit is the only option that's made it this far when RISUG seems like such a better choice all around - but less profitable. Of course men aren't going to be happy with something like this and I don't really blame them. I am not happy with the hormonal options available to women either! although they can have benefits for some women so I'm glad they are an option for those who want them, but better non-hormonal options for everyone please!!
I think we need better options for both sexes!! non hormonal long lasting male contraceptive (RISUG) has shown promising research but isn't profitable enough to be seriously pursued so instead pharma companies are doing this dumb testosterone blocker that is much more likely to be rejected by men. It makes me wonder how many better options we might have for birth control if our quality of life was the main consideration not how much money can be made off it.
Edited because reddit text editor fucks up on me if I paste anything into it.
Hello! I am a researcher working on a sensor system that needs to have extremely low noise. I have eliminated a lot of noise from the system through using batteries with LDO regulators and a Faraday cage.
There is one part of the system that I am having trouble isolating from the wall though and that is the heating coil required to keep the sensing element at a designated temperature (around 600-700c). This heating coil takes about 8W so it would drain a decent sized battery in less than a day. I am still seeing some 60 Hz noise on my sensor output which is really problematic for making the measurements I want.
I wanted to know what you all might recommend for a way to power my heating coil from the wall but minimize the 60 Hz from my signal as much as possible.
Why not power the heat off of a DC supply?
I mean the supply going to the coil is the one I linked. The output is DC but its powered from the wall. I don't think the DC output is perfectly free of 60 Hz noise though.
Oh the DAQ actually is connected to a computer but there is optical isolation between it and the computer.
It really depends on the subject and course level. Entry level core credits? Yeah low passing rate means crap instructor. 200 level chem? 300 level accounting? Literally anything medical? I'd be more concerned if there wasn't a noticeable washout rate.
The cash is only part of what it takes to get a degree. You still have to earn it, and frankly, not everyone has the chops to be a doctor, lawyer, or CPA. Just because you went 20K+ in debt doesn't mean you deserve the degree.
Just to be clear, I'm not defending bad instructors. I'm just saying that the idea of being handed a degree just because you paid for it is dumb as hell. I still want graduates to know a thing or two about their field of study.
Edit: Looks like people are zeroing in on the price tag. Ok let me be more blunt.
Not everyone has what it takes to earn any degree, especially for the more difficult fields. Even if you remove money from the equation (scholarships, grants, Europe, what ever) the idea of a 100% pass rate for college is absurd. Would anyone of you really trust a graduate from a college where nobody failed?
This is very accurate. As someone who just started teaching to undergraduates this year I have quickly come to realize that there are many students who expect a degree for the lowest amount of effort they can muster. Its not even really about the material being hard its just about being willing to do the readings/assignments and attend classes/discussion. Even the greatest professors can't make up for that.
In Europe you can have a degree for free
even if its free you still have to work for a degree. A professor can be great but learning still takes effort. The best professors can make it better but they can't do all of the work for their students.
Although My LDR ended very sadly for me over a month ago. I stumbled upon this beautiful piece written in the 1600's but still highly relevant to this subreddit. I thought it would be good to share with all of you that are doing long distance. I wish I had seen it before things fell apart.

I'm honestly not that familiar with the process as I've never worked in biotech. I do know that the technology is certainly capable of doing it, but it doesn't get done.
It's probably unfair to blame the approval process. While it costs a lot of time and money, it's a necessary process.
What I should have said is that it would be considered a GMO regardless of whether or not the transformation was from the same species. Interest in developing these lines is low because it's very difficult to sell a GMO product to human consumers. In short, there's no money in it.
If public perception of GMOs was more nuanced, perhaps consumers would demand this sort of product, understanding that it is indistinguishable from the result of breeding. As it is, most anti-GMO organisations fight all GM technologies regardless of the specifics of the product.
There are a handful of technologies that are in a similar situation. For instance, it's possible to confer viral resistance to many plants by simply inserting a segment of the viral genome into the plant's genome. This is process that often occurs naturally; in fact, a significant portion of just about all genomes are viral in origin. Basically, doing this allows the plant to recognize the virus and defend against it. It's a very promising technology, but it's been extremely difficult to get farmers on board. Even if the crop is able to withstand disease, they don't know that anyone will buy it.
Although the approval process is important in that it exists to protect the consumers from any harm that could be inadvertently caused by the GMO, it is so long and expensive that there are only a couple companies in the US (like Monsanto) who can afford to put GMOs on the market. This gives them a monopoly on the market and that causes many more problems than the actual GMOs which are basically harmless. The approval process is so intense that there are only about 100 or so different GMO crops approved total. Another interesting way people have altered plants without using transgenes is mutation breeding, where they plants are exposed to mutagens like gamma radiation and then favorable mutations are selected. With this kind of breeding you don't have to go through the approval process you have to with GMOs, although you cant alter a specific gene.
Galactose is now my favorite sugar.
It really shouldn't be considering its half of the thing that causes you so much misery.
I'm addicted to Japanese curry!. Making it from scratch is definitely the best if you have the time, but I'm often quite busy. Does anyone know if and where you can buy the roux blocks without MSG in them?
