The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Lead to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can independently own accounting processes while also reviewing work, improving workflows, and supporting other team members.
You will partner with US-based finance stakeholders and take ownership of general ledger activities, reconciliations, month-end close, financial reporting, and accounting process improvements.
What You’ll Do
* Lead day-to-day accounting operations across the general ledger, AP, AR, and reconciliations
* Own key areas of the month-end and year-end close
* Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and account adjustments
* Review balance sheet reconciliations, roll-forwards, and supporting schedules
* Ensure accounting records are complete, accurate, and aligned with US GAAP
* Prepare and review financial reports
* Investigate accounting discrepancies and drive issues to resolution
* Review work prepared by other accounting team members
* Coordinate with US-based finance stakeholders, auditors, and external partners
* Support audit preparation and respond to accounting information requests
* Improve accounting workflows, internal controls, and documentation
* Develop SOPs, close calendars, and quality-control processes
* Support system implementations, migrations, and process improvement initiatives
* Manage multiple priorities while ensuring deadlines are consistently met
What We’re Looking For
* 6+ years of hands-on accounting experience
* Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, AP, AR, reconciliations, and close management
* Experience independently managing month-end close activities
* Strong understanding of US GAAP
* Experience working with US-based companies, clients, or finance teams
* Strong balance sheet reconciliation and financial reporting experience
* Experience reviewing accounting work and supporting junior team members
* Ability to identify issues, investigate root causes, and drive resolution
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
* High attention to detail, ownership, and professional judgment
* Ability to manage responsibilities with minimal oversight
* Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
* Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience mentoring or reviewing the work of other accountants
* Experience supporting audits and preparing audit schedules
* Exposure to multi-entity accounting
* Experience with accounting process improvements, ERP implementations, or migrations
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
* CPA or equivalent accounting certification is a plus
