Twitch is a website dedicated to hosting livestreams watched by millions around the world
The platform is owned by Amazon and largely focusses on video game livestreams
However, content creators also upload clips of themselves creating artwork or music, or simply having a chat
Twitch boasts more than 15million daily active users watching clips streamed by around 3million creators
Its creators make money through a mix of paid subscripions, advertising revenue and donations from viewers
Some of the site's biggest earners make millions every year, largely through sponsorship deals with big brands
Twitch is worth an estimated £3billion
Its biggest competitors are Microsoft-owned streaming platform Mixer, YouTube (which is owned by Google) and Facebook Live

ONE of Twitch's rising stars has been temporarily banned from the platform after suffering a wardrobe malfunction live on air.
Streamer Imjasmine was dazzling fans during a broadcast from a paddling pool on Wednesday when she accidentally exposed herself on camera.
After her fans highlighted the error in the stream's chat, the influencer quickly covered herself up.
Too little, too late, as far as Twitch was concerned.
"Welp, got banned for a day by twitch," Imjasmine wrote on Thursday. "See you all soon."
Imjasmine, who has more than 220,000 followers on Twitch, regularly engages in a new craze known as "hot tub livestreams".
They involve streamers – typically bikini-clad women – chatting to followers while broadcasting from a hot tub or inflatable pool.
Critics have dismissed the trend as a cheeky way to sidestep Twitch’s guidelines on revealing clothing.
The site's policies bar "fully or partial nudity" including "the visible outline of genitals, even when covered".
Twitch does explicitly ban those who "present as women" from showing their nipples, a rule that Imjasmine ran afoul of this week.
The streamer confirmed that the ban would last 24 hours.
If true, Jasmine will be back on the platform by April 23.
She's not the first streamer slapped with a ban in recent weeks after pushing the boundaries of Twitch's rules.
Earlier this month, American internet star Supcaitlin was blocked for 24 hours for wearing "inappropriate" clothing during a stream.
The streamer blamed "mass reporting" by viewers for her suspension after she donned a revealing bunny outfit on camera.
Supcaitlin, who has more than 53,000 followers on Twitch, also regularly engages in hot tub livestreams.
In other news, an American Twitch star has made thousands after live-streaming himself from his bedroom for two weeks straight.
A sleeping man made $16,000 (£11,500) by streaming his slumber on Twitch and charging fans to attempt to wake him up.
And, Netflix is trialling a viewing timer feature that can pause an episode for you if you fall asleep.

Charlize Theron has exposed herself on Instagram. The Mad Max: Fury Road actress showed so much, she had to censor her video – yes, the 44-year-old abides by the platform's no-nudity policies.
Charlize's update today came as a celebratory one: the star was over the moon that her new Bombshell movie has been nominated for a SAG award, although fans of the famous blonde may have been over the moon for different reasons. The video showed Theron jumping up and down on a bed surrounded by a squad of friends – Theron stood out by wearing a green robe.

Charlize was definitely thrilled that her entire movie's cast had been nominated in the Best Drama category. While some celebrities will celebrate a nomination with a glass of champagne (and a slinky dress), Theron seemed happy to do it completely commando and in a robe.
"I'm not wearing any underwear!" the Oscar winner was heard saying.
That definitely became visible as the star accidentally exposed her nether regions for what would likely have been some very NSFW footage without the edit. And yes, the giant colored panel likely hit the star's fans with a bang.
Fans paying attention to Theron's caption will have noticed that the actress directly referred to her wardrobe malfunction with a 'Whoops."
The video definitely proved popular, though, racking up over 550,000 views in the space of six hours.
Fan comments largely seemed to see users turning a blind eye to the oops moment, with countless users taking to the comments section of the video to congratulate the actress.
"Well deserved" was another comment.
Then again, the odd fan did seem to pick up on it.
Bombshell centers around sexual harassment at Fox News, with Theron herself opening up to The Independent on how watching the movie made her feel.
"Watching this has been eye-opening to a lot of people. Men, especially, go, 'I had no idea women had to do things like that'. But up until four weeks into shooting, I was still grappling with who she was as a person, and it wasn’t until I really zeroed in on that year-and-a-half of the story that I could actually defend her," Theron said.
