Radio Guerrero is a lo-fi musical project based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Radio Guerrero was formed in 2024 by two Wipers—an American punk rock band—fans who decided to make their own music. The project has currently released 2 materials, the Generation Gap EP and "Midnight Train" single, and is working on new materials.

History

Radio Guerrero started as a result of influence of Greg Sage and his band, Wipers. Two friends, that had stayed long enough in Yogyakarta and enjoyed listening to Wipers, decided to make their own music, just at least as a remembrance of the legacy of classic punk rock sounds, especially Wipers. There went Alan (alias 3465) on drums and vocals, and Mvkti on guitar. Radio Guerrero later turned into a trio with the addition of Panji, a friend of 3465 whom he invited to play bass.

Radio Guerrero's first ever release was an EP titled Generation Gap, released in February 2025. The raw and abrasive sound of the EP reflects the strong influence of classic punk rock and lo-fi aestethics on the project.

Shortly after the release of the EP, 3465 switched to become the guitarist/singer for the project as Mvkti had left to focus on other matters.

In August 2025, Radio Guerrero released their first single titled "Midnight Train" as an introduction to their upcoming mini-album. With the intention of experimenting and exploring new sounds, Radio Guerrero added elements of 80's post-punk and new wave to the single, and planned to add similar sounds to the mini-album.

In early September 2025, Mvkti returned to rejoin the group as a guitarist. However, 3465 stayed to play guitar, leaving no fixed player for the drums.

Around this time, the participants for the project grew; 3 more people joined the project, they're Akbar, Bastian, and Rijal. The trio occasionally rehearse with 3465 in studios across town.

Currently, Radio Guerrero is recording materials for their upcoming mini-album. The album is expected to be released early next year.
