My Journey From Student to Online-prenuer

My journey into entrepreneurship online began in 2017 when I was a first-year student at Makerere University, pursuing my dream of becoming a pharmacist with a specialization in radiopharmacy. During that time, I initiated the creation of videos and posters to facilitate easy and affordable access to various streaming TV accounts and VPNs for others. My brother, Akram Sserunjogi, and I established our first online business during the first semester holidays. We brainstormed and discussed strategies to expand our online market. Despite his young age, Akram demonstrated remarkable innovation and considerable thinking capacity.

Together, we formed a telegram channel, added a few contacts, and consistently shared our posters. Our focus was on providing honest and reliable services. To attract more clients, we incentivized our growing customer base with promises of freebies. Sserunjogi effectively marketed our online services to his schoolmates at Kawempe Muslim Secondary School, initiating a chain of referrals.

As time progressed, the content of my posters and videos shifted towards eliminating ignorance and imparting knowledge on creating and generating such accounts. This transition significantly contributed to expanding our customer base, both within and outside the medical school. I dedicated every available spare minute to planning the next video, crafting posters, and researching ideas to enhance our online presence.

Verily poster designing

In 2020, I assembled a small team of friends from India to assist in managing the channel by developing an automated bot. This bot was designed to efficiently handle and deliver orders or accounts to customers once their payments were confirmed. With their support, I successfully handled several streaming account transactions each week while juggling my responsibilities as a student. Later, we collaborated with Montipo Luba, who took on the role of accounts manager, and this partnership has been seamlessly ongoing.

This collaboration sparked the idea for developing our website. Recognizing the valuable knowledge gained throughout this journey, I envisioned sharing it with at least 10 people. Consequently, we introduced Cohort on our Telegram channel in November 2020, and to our surprise, over 200 people joined the initiative.
