Abbas Arakci's statement after the talks in Muscat

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi made a brief statement to Iranian state television after indirect talks between representatives of Iran and the United States in the capital of Oman, in Muscat.Dec.:

Today we have had intensive and long negotiations from 10 am to almost 6 pm, several rounds of indirect talks have been held. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman, Mr. Badr al-Busaidi, made a lot of efforts today both in terms of hosting and organization, as well as communicating the messages and attitudes of the parties to each other. There were several rounds of talks; we discussed the issues with him first, and then he discussed them with the other side.

After a long break, our positions and concerns were communicated. Dec. All the necessary issues related to the interests and rights of the Iranian people were discussed in a very good atmosphere, and the views of the other side were also listened to.

This was a good start, but how the process will proceed depends on consultations and Decrees to be made between the capitals.

As for the continuation of the negotiations, it has been almost agreed that they should be continued, but the time, method and date will be determined, Allah willing, in subsequent consultations through the Omani foreign minister. To me, the atmosphere was good and, if I have to put it in one word, it was a good start.
