Shot over just 20 days by his wife Sam Taylor-Johnson, the movie sees Aaron as real-life entrepreneur James Frey. Describing his approach to the role, Aaron said he had "no choice but to be guttural, instinctive, and present." I'll say.
Describing the scene, the Parks and Rec actor said "one is supposed to be huge and the other is supposed to be very small" – in this case, Jason's was the bigger one and Adam's was the smaller.
Apparently attaching them was "pretty businesslike" and they looked "real". On the actual experience of wearing them, Adam said, "it’s weird because, other than the prosthetic, I am naked. And the prosthetic looks real. So for all intents and purposes I am naked".
Now THIS is how you include nudity in a drama and make it feel organic and quite beautiful. Paul seems to agree , commenting that "it's something I'm incredibly proud of. I wouldn't like to have done the show without nudity in it because the book is so visceral and raw". The screenshots all over the internet, however, he could do without. (Sorry Paul!)
