INTRODUCTION

Auld Lang Syne is an extremely simple solitaire game with a low chance of winning (roughly 1%). The game starts with the foundations established, and players work to build them up four cards at a time. keonhacai

THE CARDS & THE LAYOUT

Seperate the four Aces from the deck and lay them out in a row. These are your foundation piles. Shuffle the remaining cards. This becomes your draw pile and can remain in hand face down. Deal four cards face up in a row below the foundation cards. This begins your tableau.

THE PLAY

While playing Auld Lang Syne, you are working to move all of the cards to the foundation piles according to suit. Only top cards from the tableau may be moved to the foundations. Foundations build up in ascending order according to suit.

Check the first four cards played to begin the tableau. If any of these can be moved up to the foundation piles, do so. For example, if a 2 of spades is showing on the tableau, move it to the spades foundation pile. When no other cards can be moved to the foundations, deal four more cards face up on top of the previous row. Any holes created by card movement are filled with cards from the draw pile. Once a card is covered, it is playable once it has become uncovered.

Play like this continues until you build all of the foundations or run out of legal moves.

WINNING

Place all the cards in ascending order according to suit. If you work through the entire deck without fulfilling the objective, you lose.
