ARMY 2024 IMTF focuses on special military operation


For the first time, the Forum presents more than 250 samples of military products developed by the 'People's Defence Industry' in the interests of the special military operation.

Today, on 13 August 2024, Lieutenant General Aleksandr Osadchuk, Head of the Main Directorate for Innovative Development of the Ministry of Defence of Russia, briefed journalists on the ARMY 2024 Forum.

Commenting on the features of the 10th ARMY International Military and Technical Forum, Lieutenant General Osadchuk noted that this year's programme is focused on protocol meetings within the military-technical cooperation, scientific and business events, and a rich static exhibition focusing on the special military operation'.

'More than 1,000 domestic and foreign enterprises and organisations have submitted more than 20,000 samples of military and dual-use products in the form of nature-size samples, mock-ups, and advertising and information materials.

The Russia's main arms exposition has gathered specialists of the Russian Ministry of Defence, directors and general designers of defence industry enterprises and organisations, as well as foreign military delegations officially invited by the Russian Ministry of Defence'.

He also drew the journalists' attention to a unique display of initiative developments supplied to the special military operation zone.

'It is the first time the Forum widely shows samples of military products developed by the 'People's Defence Industry' in the interests of the special military operation.

The Forum area features a separate static exposition organised in cooperation with All-Russia People's Front. The exposition displays initiatives being developed and supplied to the special military operation zone through the entities of the Russian Federation, civilian enterprises, and public and volunteer organisations. More than 250 exhibits from 100 participating companies are presented on over 2,000 square metres. The exhibition booth provides business facilities for sharing experience and organising interaction between 'People's Defence Industry' and federal executive authorities, military administration, development institutes, and industry enterprises.

Unmanned aerial vehicles, ground robotic (robotised) systems, EW systems, electronic reconnaissance, medical equipment, small arms modifiers, and others are the main exhibits of the exposition.

Five regional sectors are presented at the exposition: Ulyanovsk, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Tula regions, and the Republic of Tatarstan.

The site brought together concerned engineers and inventors from all over the country, as well as enthusiasts who develop equipment, hardware and high-quality techno-electronic components at the level of the world's best brands to meet the needs of the special military operation,' Lieutenant General Osadchuk said.

'Attendance of the Forum shows a consistent interest in the exhibition, both at the Russian and international levels,' Aleksandr Osadchuk stressed.

Delegations from defence agencies of more than 80 foreign countries attended the Forum on the first day. At the level of the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation and his deputies, eight bilateral international meetings were held.

National exhibitions are organised at the Forum by the Republic of Belarus, the People's Republic of China, India, and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to Lieutenant General Aleksandr Osadchuk, foreign specialists were particularly interested in the trophy exhibition, a display of promising military hardware, exhibitions organised by Roscosmos state corporation, Rosatom corporation, Kalashnikov Concern (Unmanned Systems Expo), Almaz-Antey Concern, JSC Rosoboronexport, Shvabe Holding, and a number of many others.

This year, the Forum's scientific and business agenda includes 96 scientific and business events. In 2024, however, the Forum's scientific and business programme is dominated by issues of developing the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Russian defence industry and military-technical cooperation taking into account the experience acquired in the special military operation.

'On the first day of the Forum, 16 events of the scientific and business programme were held; the key of them were: the ARMY 2024 IMTF plenary session attended by Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation Aleksey Krivoruchko, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Belarus Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin, and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alihanov,' reported Lieutenant General Osadchuk.

He also briefed journalists on the most significant events of the Forum that take place on 13 August.

These include the Russian Ministry of Defence signing state contracts with Russian defence industry enterprises, and JSC Rosoboronexport signing international agreements with military-technical cooperation entities.

Moreover, agreements are to be signed today by the Main Directorate for Innovative Development of the Ministry of Defence with Sakhalin, Kherson, and Omsk regions, TulaTECH Research and Education Centre, and the 'Proyek-Tekhnika' Corporation (Kursk) in order to develop scientific and technical cooperation with regional organisations and enhance cooperation on applied researches.
