Did you know that human error is a contributing factor in over 90% of roadway crashes? And the way we've designed our infrastructure often doesn't help. It's only going to get worse as our roads become increasingly complex – pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, light rail, buses, distracting in-vehicle technologies, and automated cars, all sharing the same environment. My research models the effects of roadway environment factors on driver perception and performance.
