ANTIFA's botched attack on the Time For Change Rally

orlared

This is video of ANTIFA members gathering at Liberty Hall before attempting their botched attack against rally goers at the Custom House where a protest against the Irish government's Covid-19 national strategy was taking place on Saturday the 22nd of August.

The date co-coincided with the anniversary of Michael Collins' death which made an invitation to English members of ANTIFA to travel to Ireland and help attack the rally goers all the more treasonous.

Speakers at the rally included workers in the health care system, academia and local government. The crowd were primarily made of up of Irish families and working class people of all ages whose lives have been impacted by the government's Covid-19 restrictions.

ANTIFA are known for never hiding the fact that their intention is to commit acts of violence against those whom they perceive to be their political enemies and the lead-up to their "fightback" against the Time For Change rally was no different. See some examples below which included references to murder.

"Bash The Fash" | "We in the killing Nazis business"
"Cure For Yellow Vests" over a a magazine of bullets.
Recruitment campaign "Must have strong desires to punch Nazis"
"we cannot allow racists to gather on Irish streets"

In a twitter exchange in reply to this last post, a member of the public inquired whether ANTIFA were aware that the Time For Change rally would be peaceful in nature and that men, women, children and the elderly who are concerned about the government's response to Covid-19 would all be in attendance.

The spokesperson for ANTIFA Dublin responded that the organisers were being "hunted" and that they should have warned children and elderly to stay at home.

Despite all the fighting talk, the day didn't go ANTIFA's way. Rally attendees defended themselves against the assault quickly and effortlessly on Custom House Key until ANTIFA were rescued by gardaí and dispersed back to Butt Bridge in shame. One member of Ógra Shinn Féin was left unconscious with a broken nose and head injuries. Other members of ANTIFA in attendance say he has no recollection of the event.

In a statement released on Twitter, Sinn Féin attempted to blame the rally goers for defending themselves against ANTIFA violence and requested the Gardaí to prosecute them, tactfully opting to sign the tweet "No Pasarán" instead of ANTIFA's other motto "All Cops Are Bastards".

Today ANTIFA appeared humbled by their failure and now say they need to consider "longer term strategies of cultural antifascism". For their sake, let's hope this includes ceasing their assaults on the Irish working class for protesting government policy.

Separately, the IWW union deleted their call for their members to "mobilise against fascism" and other members of ANTIFA consoled themselves by remarking that at least Jedward had a Twitter spat with Jim Corr so the day wasn't a complete loss.
