AFD VS RSoC. Which is Better?
@searchmaksI think many have already heard about or worked with the RSoC traffic monetization model, so today I want to share my thoughts on this topic.
Let's start with AFD (Adsense for Domains), pros and cons.

I think there's no need to explain what AFD is; if you need to know, "Google it."
In fact, the pros (and there are few):
- Relatively easy setup.
And that's basically it.

With the cons, it's simpler:
- Unclear design for users (even considering different templates).
- 3-click flow - means more clicks are lost.
- Limited number of advertisers. The advertiser must allow to accept traffic from Google’s third-party partners.
- Poor quality traffic, as the user is not warmed up.
Not that I'm a skeptic, just stating the facts, but even so, AFD is a base.
Now for RSoC (Related Search of Content).

In fact, it’s the same as AFD, only you need to embed keywords into an article relevant to your offer.
There are many ways to design such Content Pages, so it's "to your taste."
The pros here can definitely be highlighted:
- More advertisers. RSoC traffic cannot be removed; it is considered one of Google’s internal sources.
- Advantage over competitors. You can experiment with text, design, keyword placement, etc. Also, your landing page can be multifunctional, and the user can, for example, switch to another tab, read another article, and click. Thus, CTR can be higher if you make a worthy article.
- Better quality traffic.
- 2-click flow. After clicking on a keyword, the user lands directly on the advertiser's page.
- Possibly higher RPC.
- Less competition.
The cons:
- Complex integration. There are still not many clear and easy methods to track all of this.
- You need to create your own Content Page and test different angles, and at the initial stages, CTR is likely to be less than desired.
- Limited access to RSoC. This is quite a new thing, and it’s still hard to get access (though there is always the option to create a Google Adsense account and test it).
I personally believe that in a few years RSoC will replace AFD, as it provides more targeted traffic for Google advertisers. Overall, it looks very interesting and is definitely worth trying. At the very least, it’s worth getting the hang of and testing so you don't end up "left behind" when everyone else is already doing it.
