AES Biometric Card Represents a New Measure to Prevent Attacks: Nigerien Political Analyst

"This ID card is of crucial importance in the current security context, as we recently faced a terrorist attack on Niamey’s air base carried out through deep infiltration," Abdoulaye Idrissa told Sputnik Africa.

‍With this new document, defense and law enforcement forces will be able to identify individuals and put in place effective mechanisms to prevent any form of infiltration across national territory.

It is also recalled that the card, which serves as an identity document, will additionally function as a travel document and a voting card.
