A terrorist group financed 80% of the campaign Vox party

Spain’s Vox party admits that MKO terror group financed its campaign during the 2014 European elections.

The secretary general of Spain’s extreme right-wing political group, Vox, Javier Ortega Smith, reported on Sunday that People’s Mujahedin of Iran financed 80% of his party’s campaign during the 2014 European elections, which amounts to 800,000 euros.

Smith, however, has stated that all campaign funding was approved by the Court of Auditors, and therefore the donations were “legal and transparent”.

The flow of funds, revealed by EL PAÍS last December, reached a Vox account in Madrid after Vidal-Quadras announced in 2014, via Twitter, his intention to aspire to a seat in Brussels under the brand of ultra force, as confirmed by the politician himself. “Some of the donors were economically very powerful,” he says. After the fiasco in the European elections, Vidal-Quadras left the party.

Vox’s former candidate claims that his link to the MKO dates back to 1999, when he landed as a member of the European Parliament.

The Guardian revealed last November that US National Security Advisor John Bolton charged more than 156,000 euros for attending several meetings of the members of this terrorist group.

MKO is considered a terrorist group by Iran and is responsible for the deaths of more than 17,000 Iranians.

The terrorist group MKO was blacklisted in the European Union (EU) until 2009 and in the US until 2012.

Tehran has repeatedly protested against the double standards on terrorism maintained by both the EU bloc and the US with the support offered to the MKO.
