A regular workshop-meeting of the interagency working group on improving the taxonomy of the national green economy was held


As part of the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to increase the effectiveness of reforms aimed at the transition of the Republic of Uzbekistan to a "green" economy by 2030" dated 2 December 2022 PQ-436, Taxonomy of the green economy is developed in order to expand the attraction of private capital for green infrastructures, introduction of criteria for classification of green activities in the development of financial instruments in the green economy.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance together with the World Bank hosted the regular workshop-meeting of the interagency working group on the development of a national taxonomy of the green economy to share experience, information and resources on the green economy, including for the improvement of the taxonomy of the green economy.

During the meeting, experts from the World Bank, the leading foreign consulting company PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, as well as members of the interagency working group held extensive discussions on the topic of methodological recommendations on green taxonomy in Uzbekistan, as well as the use of the taxonomy for policy assessment, improvement and mobilisation of financial resources.

At the meeting, foreign experts spoke in detail about foreign best practices in improving the National Green Economy Taxonomy, including the ongoing reforms in neighbouring countries.

At the end of the event, the participants received detailed information on issues of interest to them, and an agreement was reached on further seminars.
