A rant on the "Philosophical Twitter"

A rant on "philosophical twitter".

In one word, it's fuckery of insane lengths. I feel like throwing up with cringe everytime I listen to a philosophical conversation.

Last time I was in a twitter space & the dude couldn't finish a sentance without saying Heidegger & Neitzsche and name dropping of other people.

Talking about people counts to gossip.

Apparently that's what philosophical conversations has boiled down into. Pure gossip & intellectual fuckery.

It doesn't matter if the people you are gossiping about did great shit. These people merely quote Marcus Arelius & Plato fooling themselves into thinking they are doing philosophy.

The problem is that what Marcus Arelius thought while writing his teachings need not be the same thing you are interpreting it on. There is thousands of years of gap between us and them. And language corrupts the interpretation. I am not saying to ditch what the great philosophers taught us in the past. But don't take those as an absolute....

Just read those for fun and do first hand philosophical enquiry for yourself. You understand for yourself what life is, what God is etc..

When you are quoting other people, notice that you are unconsciously creating a boundary between you and them. And you do not Fully understand the intend behind the people who are quoting.

It's just another feel good gossip.

None of them are doing actual philosophy. Not even close. They are corrupting it.

It should be talking about free will and God and dissecting the flaws and putting forth astute arguments....and none of that happens on the intellectual twitter.

It's regurgitation of already existing texts over and over again without even taking the bare minimum effort to think.

One more point is to get the fact that Plato is just another dude. He is not the master of the universe whom shall we worship. He is just another dude who talked about the world. All these masters have plenty of flaws in their world views too. It's also filled with neediness and insecurities of their own.

So refrain from seeing them as an authority over anything, because they are not.

Instead of quoting other dudes why don't you learn about the world yourself.

The children of the future should be talking about how you viewed the world and your philosophies.
