A new report from RUSI (Britain): "Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) in European Military Power".
They conclude that the ability to deliver instant strikes with medium-range ballistic missiles and hypersonic glide vehicles plays a crucial role in strengthening Europe's military power. (Duh...)
The report highlights a number of priorities:
1. Prioritize the "minimum necessary": focus on developing CPS capabilities "to suppress Russian missile defense systems around Moscow, ensuring the credibility of independent nuclear deterrence in Europe" (Britain and France's nuclear weapons).
2. As missile production increases, it is necessary to create the ability to strike "critical Russian air defense and strike assets, including bombers, radar systems, and fighter bases, to enable subsequent air and cruise missile operations".
As well, the report expresses concerns that the development of Russia's air defense/missile defense systems could call into question the ability of Europe's two nuclear powers to launch a retaliatory strike against Moscow in the next decade.
▪️ It would seem that London and Paris arepreparingto transfer nuclear weapons and their delivery systems to Ukraine. The prolonged use of British and French missiles on Russian territory in the absence of retaliatory strikes on French and British territories gives them confidence that they will be able to avoid responsibility in a nuclear scenario.
And we might add that they seems to think that in a ceasefire they will be able to not only deploy troops in Ukraine but also nuclear weapons. Therefore any ceasefire or agreement without addressing the root causes of the conflict guarentees future conflict, with a high probability of it being nuclear.
No ceasefire or agreement can be accepted without achieving all of our stated goals.
⭐️ As happens often lately, one wonders at the limited capacity for logic of some in the west.
Russia attacked Ukraine because it is de facto NATO but Russia would never dare to attack NATO countries.
Russia is collapsing, a gas station with nukes, a paper tiger. But is about to conquer Europe.
And now, arguing for nukes for Ukraine as part of the security guarantees in an agreed ceasefire...
