A meeting was held between the Green Economy Project Center and the Japanese “Sojitz Corporation” and the Qatari “Nebraska Power”


The Center of Green Economy Projects held an initial meeting with representatives of the Japanese company “Sojitz Corporation” and the Qatari company “Nebras Power” regarding planned renewable energy projects and the sale of the resulting reduced greenhouse gas emissions. The meeting was attended by the director of the Center for Green Economy Projects T. Narzikulov and responsible employees of the Center.

At the meeting, representatives of foreign companies mentioned that “Sojitz Corporation” and “Nebras Power” are willing to participate as investors in construction of a wind power plant with a total capacity of 1 GW under the JCM (Joint Credit Mechanism), which is planned to be built in the Navoi region.

The Center’s staff also noted that there is an intergovernmental agreement between Uzbekistan and Japan on the Joint Credit Mechanism (JCM) and a National Program is being developed in accordance with Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.

The parties agreed to continue mutual cooperation.
