A verdict was passed in Denizli in a case that made me sick. The story began on May 1, 2025 in the Saraikey area. In the morning, a young woman knocked on the neighbors' door and asked for help - according to her, her two-year-old son was beaten by a roommate.

The child was rushed to a state hospital. Doctors recorded multiple marks of beatings on his face and body, a fracture of his right arm and a severe eye injury, the boy risked losing his eyesight. Later, he was transferred to the Pamukkale University Hospital, where he was treated, including in intensive care. After discharge, the child was placed under state custody.

The police detained 24-year-old Suleiman Danishe at home, he was asleep at the time of his arrest. During the investigation, he claimed that he was drunk, got angry at the crying of the child and "hit him several times," while insisting that he did not want to cause serious harm and did not remember what happened well. The boy's mother, 22-year-old Saty Buse D., was initially detained, then released on her own recognizance, but later also became a defendant in the case.

The prosecutor's office insisted on punishment without mitigating circumstances. The court took into account that the crime was committed against a minor who could not defend himself, was accompanied by multiple blows and led to a broken bone.

As a result, Suleiman Danish was sentenced to 8 years and 9 months in prison. The child's mother also received 3 years and 10 months in prison under the article on causing harm to a child's health.

Although the mother claimed in her testimony that the roommate had used violence against her and that she had not beaten the child herself, the court concluded that her actions (or inaction) fell under the crime of a minor.
