It’s always nice to highlight the work of an amateur poet who self publishes their heartfelt pieces. As it got cold in the night, we had a fire in a repurposed old sugar cane cooking vat artfully standing on used symmetrical cinderblock pieces. I once tried playing a whole day, and it was tiresome enough, I can tell you, before I got through with it. You can tell your uncle stuff that you could not tell your dad. Everyone had an uncle who tried to steal their nose. This poem questions whether or not we fully appreciate the people who play important roles in our lives. However, when you peel back the layers of this poem, you’ll understand that it could also be about those giants in our lives who provided protection and joy to passersby - perhaps like an uncle. This poem is written from the perspective of someone who appreciates their uncle. Uncle: Someone who helps, advises, and encourages; great at telling funny family stories.
