The Roomba J7+, iRobot's smartest robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. Its biggest breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that uses built-in AI to recognize objects like charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste many other robots are unable to avoid (and often go through). It's also the first to automatically send you a picture of an object it encounters so that you can tell it to avoid it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop we've ever tested. It removes dirt and spills effortlessly leaving no trace it was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app which allows you to schedule cleaning and create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't clean areas you do not want it to. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can start and stop it with your voice.
Its design is also superior to the rest and features a sleek, top piece that appears more like a toy robot than a loud, obnoxious one. Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal System is also self-emptying which will cut down your cleaning time.
In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ quickly eliminated dirt, dust and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brush roll kept the debris in one location instead of scattering it around the floor. It was able to capture small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a little grit. Most robots can't do this. It did all without getting caught up in our pet's hair.
Although it's not as smart as the $1,217 Roomba s9+ Auto-Emptying Vacuum, which isn't able to clean stairs The J7+ is an excellent option for those who need mopping and a vacuum in their home. It's not too expensive, and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly to use.
While the iRobot Home app is very easy to use, we've found it to be less reliable than other applications that work with robotic cleaners. It can take a while to download updates, and at times it's difficult to know whether the update is functioning until you've seen it in the action.

If you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that does more than simply clean your floors A hybrid is the best option. This category of bots typically comes with a built-in tank for water which means they can mop and vacuum your home at the same time. Roborock makes some of our top robot vacuums and the Q5+ is no exception. This is the least expensive model in their auto-empty line. Although it doesn't have some of the more premium features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories), it's still an excellent choice if you are willing to make some compromises to save a few dollars.
The Q5+ is noticeably gentle around obstacles like wall legs and table legs which makes it an excellent option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies. This is an area that many cheaper robot vacuums do not excel in. The technology for navigation in the Q5+ is excellent and has very few missed corners and along walls.
Like other Roborock devices as well, the Q5+ can be controlled by the buttons on the device itself or via the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, alter your home map, or re-label the rooms.
If you select the Q5+ it comes with a new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make the robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once it's in place, emptying the bin is relatively simple. It comes with a huge LCD screen that is very useful when setting up schedules and changing settings. This feature isn't essential for the majority of people, but it can help effectively keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a smart well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its design and function are some of the best on the market however, it's also expensive.
It's a small base station that looks stunning and is able to be concealed when not in use. The main reason to buy the station is that it can automate many tasks, functions, and chores that other robots leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and ensures that your robot fully charged and clean.
Its vacuuming performance is also impressive. It's the few robovacs I've tested that do very well at picking up debris on plain floors, and is not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.
But the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially in terms of navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robotvacs. This means it is prone to getting stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms of the house. It's also not able to climb stairs as well as other competitors and doesn't come with a dock that can create a clean zone for carpets that are soft.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great choice for those who need a robot vacuum that does everything.
If you're looking to save money or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are alternatives available. Many eufy models cost substantially less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for instance is a bit more expensive however it comes with more features, such as stair climbing and a full-function Dock, which provides a better overall vacuuming experience on floors that are unfinished carpets with low pile, and even high-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy is an Anker company with a history of producing robot vacuums with the right balance of features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different and offers a powerful cleaning of hard floors as well as mopping, carpets and other surfaces at a price that is affordable. It's easy to set it up, simply snap on one of the side brush and turn it on, then connect the charging dock. The app takes you through several steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. The dock must be located close to an outlet that has plenty of space to move.
The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be exact and will fit under many couches and other furniture with a low clearance. Its design is less ostentatious when compared to rival models. It features a sleek black finish with three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs a spot in a spiral fashion over two minutes), Recharge and Spot Cleaner. You can also connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform unscheduled cleaning.
The way the G30 cleans is what differentiates it from its competitors. It uses an integrated map to create a picture of the immovable items in its path. It remembers the things it has cleaned and where it cannot access. When it needs to recharge, it returns to its base and resumes cleaning from where it left off.

The iRobot Roomba 675 is better built, incurs lower recurring costs, charges more quickly and has the same battery life while offering superior performance on floors that are unfinished and carpets with a low pile. It comes with a larger dust bin, which does not require as much emptying. It also has border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30, on the other hand is less expensive and much simpler to maintain. Its smaller canister means it doesn't need to be emptied as frequently and has less trouble with bulky materials like cereal.
