King Boris, who hails from a European country, comes to Gotham City for a visit. Upon his arrival, there is a disturbance, which includes a clue from the Riddler. Batman and Robin investigate and get on the Riddler's trail. They are trapped by the criminal, who ties them to large wheels that will spin with ever-increasing speed until they are dead.
My god they spent big on the sets in season one: this two-parter just jumps from one pleasing set to another! A great looking two-parter that resembles a motion picture.<br/><br/>But it takes more than sets to make a show. It is nice to see The Riddler again (last seen in the pilot) but this two-parter is damaged by too much talking from a boring King and too much of Batman jumping back to the batcave every few minutes. Adding to this, we have a couple of "comedy" moments that fail to hit the mark.<br/><br/>But I guess the whole thing is worthwhile just to see The Riddler kiss that girl in the early stages of part one? <br/><br/>Part two contains another memorable moment when a fake Batman climbs into Gordon's office and encounters Bruce Wayne. This moment was made fun of on YouTube when some net comics dubbed over the scene with crazy X-Rated gay dialogue.<br/><br/>Despite some bumpy elements, it is hard to dis-like this two-parter.
While the pilot two-parter are the best produced episodes, this is my favorite Riddler episode, and one of the peaks of the series. We get a great villain (Gorshin, still unsurpassed as the Riddler), a cool moll and henchmen (the Gidget-esquire Mousey and the absurd Sewer Rat gang), impressive guest stars (the regal Reginald Denny as King Boris, the breathtaking Joy Harmon as a beauty queen), and best of all, a top-notch story and script.<br/><br/>Most Batman episodes are just a series of skirmishes between the Dynamic Duo and the villain, but here the Riddler has a reason - no matter how demented - for every action he takes. There's a real mystery here, and Batman solves it.<br/><br/>Other highlights include (in part 2)an impostor masquerading as Batman, but surprise! He actually does a halfway decent job of it. Touches like this help put this one ahead of the bat-pack.
