Its sleek and angular design is attractive and it has just three physical buttons that include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin automatically refills.
The only downside I found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if necessary) but it's a challenge to remove the mount itself for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of intelligent features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these smart features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the performance of this model.
