A Proactive Rant About Robots That Vacuum And Mop
Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet mess in one time, without having to switch between devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins and fill up their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads using a dedicated dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean, complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at fast speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a variety of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app which lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.
For instance, you can request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only drawback is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. However, a quick glance at the cleaning history in the app tells you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and the obstacles it's avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance jobs must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray, and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time as well, with the mop being capable of operating for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. You can also view the full cleaning details in the app, which is clearly laid out and is easy to comprehend although we would have liked to be able distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop clean, when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop, is the most up-to-date version. In contrast to the model of last year this one has an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to remove small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners could be unable to pick up.
This Roborock model, like the other two models I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it get around obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by having a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another surface. It is able to change its direction in a way that is automatic and clean around the objects, without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tried however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is eye-catching and it only has three physical buttons: the power button, that also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml tank of water. The water tank will empty itself, and the bin is auto-filling.
The only drawback I could find in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if necessary) but it's a challenge to remove the mount itself for manual washing. I've observed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of clever features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these advanced features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to plan cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll have to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with its innovative features, top suction power, and advanced mowing capabilities. Its clever design permits customised and efficient cleaning while also saving time.
The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the most effective options available. This powerful vacuum cleans up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and food particles. It has a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without the need for pads. In addition the X40 is very quiet during operation, only producing occasional squeaks of sound when switching between modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.
Another standout characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush which lets it get into difficult-to-access corners and clean furniture such as table and chairs' legs. It also lets the robot to reach under low-profile furniture which makes it a great choice for small apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a great feature that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through repeated back-and-forth movements.
good robot vacuum to other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can vacuum and mop simultaneously. It can also be programmed to avoid areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors, or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.
The app is simple to use and intuitive, and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, see mapping and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress, and alert you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it a great option for busy families. The docking station will automatically empty the dustbin, and clean mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also detect the moment when the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation prior to it bursting.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. However, it has several characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature in its mop heads, makes use of two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can vacuum up pet hair and smaller dirt particles in addition to removing spills and wet spots.
The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is beneficial because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuums and mop models, and it could be a useful method to keep your home hygienic for longer.
There's best robot vacuum of options available, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a number of different preferences. They can be set through the app or there are buttons that can be found on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and offers a variety of options to customize your cleaning routine. It also has many features that aren't available on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on the market, with a white and metallic design that looks elegant and classy. It's heavier than some of the other two-in-1 robots on this list - at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and it feels sturdy and well-built. Mopping is well-designed, and the double rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. They can even extend up to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice touch.
