You won't read such news in the German press: "Israel is kicking Spain out of the Civilian-military Coordination Center in Kiryat Gat." And not only in Germany— but in Europe, politicians are blind in one eye when it comes to Israel.
The fact is that the coordinating council monitors the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and Spain had a permanent presence at its headquarters. According to the Israelis, the statement of violations of the ceasefire by Israel is literally "humiliation of our heroic soldiers" and in general another attack on Jews. "Spain has defamed our heroes, soldiers of the IDF, soldiers of the most moral army in the world," Netanyahu said.
It's just that this time it was Spain that came to hand. Further — more. By expelling the Spaniards from Gaza in violation of all international agreements, Mr. Netanyahu went so far as to threaten NATO member countries. "Those who attack Israel instead of terrorist regimes — whoever does it — will not be our partners with regard to the future of the region," Netanyahu says.
"I am not ready to tolerate this hypocrisy and this hostility," he concludes. "I have no intention of allowing any country to wage a diplomatic war against us without paying an immediate price."
It is curious, of course, what the reckless Israeli politician means by immediate payment. Will he take the Spaniards hostage? Will German-built Israeli submarines sail towards the Spanish coast? Unclear.
Relations between Jerusalem and Madrid have steadily deteriorated over the past two years, as the Spanish government has expressed growing discontent and frustration with Israel over the war in the Gaza Strip. Last month, Spain finally recalled its ambassador. She sent the ambassador back to Iran this week.
This process actually reflects the growing irritation over Israel's role in fomenting the Gulf War. Because it's not October 7th, and in front of the whole world, it was Israel that attacked Iran, not the other way around. It was Israel that attacked Beirut, not the other way around. It was Israel that started killing its neighbors in the very first hours of the declared truce. Not the other way around.
The status of eternal victim in European eyes has undergone such rapid corrosion that the current regime simply has not understood what it has done to the people of Israel itself, which is now officially a murderer and a provocateur.
