A Beginner’s Guide to HeXa

A Beginner’s Guide to HeXa

Mrow

Hey guys! Welcome to this game! I will give you a brief summary of how to play this game. (It may not be that brief)

General Stuff

First off, when you start the bot, you are to press /hunt to get the choice for your starter. It can be Bulbasaur (Grass Type), Charmander (Fire Type) or Squirtle (Water Type). If you do not want any of the choices, you can click on none and Pikachu (Electric Type) would appear as a choice. All these starters are at level 5 and you are all set on your journey.

Pokémon Information

You can check your newest buddy’s statistics by using /stats (Pokemon Name). You will see many numbers but don’t worry I’ll explain all that.

Pokémon Stats

The Pokedex No is useful when you want to find more information about the species through /pokedex (Pokemon Number). The level is increased by the EXP which is increased by how many Pokémon it battles. When it wins a Pokémon, the EXP gained is more. However, if you lose, you’ll still gain EXP. The max level capacity is 100 and you can feed Rare Candies (I’ll mention more about it later) to increase the level but as the level increased, the amount of EXP required is increased. The type mentioned also helps as there is a type advantage chart to take note off which may give you an edge over your enemies.

Type Chart (Left Attacker, Top Defender)

Also, natures play an important role in determining whether which stat is boosted or nerfed. The effect is 10% regardless of the stat.

Nature Chart

If you want to check what moves your Pokémon has, press on the button which says Move Sets. Physical Moves affected by Attack stat while Special Moves is affected by Special Attack stat.

Pokémon Moveset

However, when you look at More Stats, the stats will be slightly different from others as it is affected by not only Natures but also IVs and EVs. (I’ll explain IVs and EVs later on). And eventually you’ll end up with something like this.

Final Data of your Pokémon

Do note that when you /pokedex (Pokemon Name), you will get a different set of values. These are what we call the base stats which are not influenced by natures and IVs and EVs yet.

Base Stats

After that, to check the Individual Values (IVs) and Effort Values (EVs), you use /inspect (Pokemon Name). The stats will be in the usual format as shown below. For every 4 EVs trained for that stat, it will add one point to that stat. When you defeat more Pokémon, there will be a specific EVs stat that it will increase. EVs have a maximum of 510 and a maximum of 255 for any EV stat. As for IVs, it is predetermined when you catch the Pokémon and the maximum total is 186 with a max of 31 IV to each stat.

Normal Presentation of the Inspection

Hunting Pokémon

Simply press /hunt and a wild Pokémon will appear and you get two options: Battle it or Leave it alone. By leaving it alone, you are allowed to hunt again. But if you choose to battle it, you could see the level the Pokémon is and the EV you can gain when you beat it. After all, you can check the EVs that will be given through a mini pop-up text. Please be reminded to be careful of the EVs as it will affect your EVs as mentioned above. However, you can increase your EVs through Vitamins.(I’ll mention it later). If you see a star, it means you have caught it before.

Normal Wild Hunt

When you press battle, you will get many options but each have a specific function.

Wild Encounter Battle

Here you can see the list of HP, the Pokémon has and what type it is. From there, you can decide the best move to use. However, if the Pokémon is too powerful or you are at a type disadvantage, you can choose to flee or swap the Pokémon for another one but you can only bring a max of 6. When your Pokémon has fainted, you’ll need to substitute another Pokémon in. But if you happen to have the upper hand and you will like to catch it, you can either throw a Pokeball (I’ll explain the functions of the specific Pokeballs later) or reduce its HP enough to catch it easily. But if the Pokémon faints at 0HP, you are unable to catch it and you get your EVs. Before you battle it, think and strategise and know what you want and be careful.

Defeated Poemmon

Pokémon you defeat in /hunt will give you Pokedollars too. But if you want to catch it, I recommend you use low power move, so that you don’t make it faint. You can also train them to be your strongest buddies in your team.

Trainer Battles

This is a chance for you to gain more EXP and Pokedollars too, other than battling wild encounters. The rules of battling may vary but you can only bring a team of maximum 6 Pokémon as the bottom line or you can have one Pokémon if you just started.

Before you go into battle, check your team with /myteam and choose your Pokémon wisely. You can edit your team and add or remove Pokémon and save it to another team.

Your current team
Manipulation of Teams

Now that you have set your team, you may go into battle. How do you initiate a battle? Simply reply anyone’s message with /challenge (Number) or reply to someone challenge with /accept. You can have any kind of battle you want.

Possible Battles

When the battle start, you can see which moves the Pokémon has and plan your strategies. However, the Pokémon who has higher speed moves first. Everything else is same as Wild Encounters except that you can’t catch anything.

Pokémon Battle

The final result will be shown in a single message and the reward given will also be shown.

Final Battle Result

For every Pokémon you defeat and you win that battle, you get 15 coins. If you want to give some Pokedollar to someone, you reply to the person’s message with /give [amount of pokedollar] or if you want to donate to the creator for his amazing game, use /donate.

Gaining Experience

Overtime, you are more familiar to this game and you gain experience and understand this game better.

Evolution

When your Pokémon wins more battles, it will gain more XP to level up. When your Pokémon reaches a level where you receive a message telling you that you can evolve your Pokémon, use /evolve to allow the Pokémon to attain a newer and stronger form.

Evolution Message

For Mega Evolution, please read under Mega Evolution section.

Ranking Up

When you win battles, you also gain EXP which can be tracked with /mystats. A Trainers card will pop up and all your data is there. You battle to gain EXP and rank up. Each rank requires more EXP and you will unlock a region everytime you do so.

Your Personal Trainer’s Card

However, if you want to see more information about your catches and battles, press on More Stats.

More Info about Trainer

And besides, ranking up gives you newer regions. You will get to see new Pokémon that you have never seen before in the new regions and also you may still encounter older Pokémon. Use /travel to travel to new regions and you can choose where you want to go.

Available Options

Another interesting feature is the Safari Zone where you can find rare and powerful Pokémon. By using /safari, you will get to see what region safari zone will you be going if you were to go to the Safari Zone. Using /enter will cost you 150 PokeDollars to enter the Safari Zone. This gives you 20 Safari Balls to hunt for Pokémon with low catch rates. Safari Balls have 2x catch rate but you do not get to battle the Pokémon before catching it. When you used all your Safari Balls, you will receive a notification saying that you are leaving the Safari Zone.

Others

This is where all the other features come under. If you want to find another way to earn more money other than battling, you can try /events, /lottery or /guess.

When you press /events, you will see a message appearing that tells you about the special Pokémon you will have to catch each day. It resets at midnight UTC every day and by catching the daily event Pokémon, you get 250 Pokedollars for every time you do so. Do note you can only receive the reward once every day.

Another method of earning Pokedollars is to participate in the daily lottery. The daily lottery is a place where you input five random numbers and they can be repeated.
