He started his career with the iconic A Nightmare on Elm Street and has played a pirate, a detective, a wolf, a vampire, a man with scissors for hands, and various other roles, making him highly versatile.

2. He’s a rockstar.

Depp started playing the guitar when he was only 12 years old. In fact, he used to play in several bands before Nicholas Cage suggested to him that he should pursue an acting career. He’s currently in a band with Alice Cooper called Hollywood Vampires and they tour occasionally.

3. He makes friends for life.

Another interesting thing to note about Johnny is the fact that when he makes friends, he keeps them for life. He has a great relationship with goth director Tim Burton and the 2 have made several movies together. A fossil of an ancient extinct creature has been named — “Kootenichela deppi” by the scientist who discovered it. A relative of scorpions and lobsters, the fossil has scissor-like claws, just like Depp’s character, Edward Scissorhands.
