This is your chance to own a robotic vacuum. CNET's top models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday, with savings of up to 57%..

The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping, with apps-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is awe-inspiring. smart vacuum cleaner -empties and automatically refills its water tank.

1. iRobot Roomba j7+

The Roomba J7+, iRobot's most intelligent robot to date, is the Roomba J7+. Its biggest advancement is an obstacle detection system that uses built-in AI to recognize objects like charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste many other robots are unable to avoid (and often plough right through). It's also the first to automatically send you a photo of any object it encounters so that you can tell it to avoid it in the future.

The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we've ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills effortlessly and leaves no trace of it was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app that lets you schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones to make sure it doesn't clean areas you do not want it to. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off using your voice.

Its design is a step above the competition with a sleek top piece that looks more like a toy robot rather than a loud, loud one. And the Clean Base Automated Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying and is ideal for reducing your cleanup time.

In our tests, we found that the j7+ swiftly eliminated dirt, dust and hair from pets. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in its place instead of scattering it across the floor. It even could catch small gravel and sand that other robots aren't able to do. And it did all of this without getting caught in our pet's hair shed.

The j7+, while not as smart as the $1,217 Roomba S9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum from iRobot, and it isn't able to clean the stairs, is still an excellent choice for those who require both mopping and a vacuum. It's not too expensive and the iRobot App makes it simple to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable as other robotic cleaner apps. It can take some time to download updates, and sometimes it's difficult to tell whether the update actually working until you've seen it in the action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking to purchase a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, your best option is probably one that is a hybrid. These bots are equipped with a water tank, so they can vacuum and mop simultaneously. They also come with many additional features like smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. They are expensive at full retail but often are reduced on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock makes some of our top robot vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. This is their least expensive auto-empty model. While it lacks some of the premium features you'll find on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great choice if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save a few hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is exceptionally gentle when it comes down to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it an ideal choice for homes that have many furniture pieces. It's also extremely thorough in removing dust bunnies. This is an area that most robot vacuums of lower quality aren't able to meet. The Q5+'s navigation is excellent, with few misses on walls and corners.

The Q5+, just like other Roborock products can be controlled with a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleanings. You can also set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go areas or modify your home map or re-label rooms.

If you decide to go with the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock, which was specifically designed to make this robot simple to maintain. It requires a screwdriver install, but once it's installed, the process of emptying the bin is relatively easy. It also features a large LCD display which is great to have when creating schedules or changing settings. This isn't an essential feature for most people however it will help you keep track of the maintenance intervals for your robot with ease.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a smart well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of vacuuming and mopping. Its design is among the most innovative in the market however, it's costly.

It is a relatively small base station that looks great and is easily hidden when not in use. The primary selling point of the station is that it automates many tasks, functions and chores that other robots have to leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and ensures that your robot clean and charged.

Its vacuuming performance is quite impressive, too. It's one of the few robot vacuums I've tested that does an excellent job of collecting debris from plain floors, and is not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

The Freo X Ultra is not without faults, particularly when it comes navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable and reliable as other robovacs. This means it is prone to getting stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms of the house. It's also unable to climb stairs like other competitors and doesn't come with a docking station to create a cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.

While it doesn't offer as much in the way of cleaning options available in its app, or as many in-app shortcuts like other robovacs the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those looking for a comprehensive robot vacuum and mop that's worth the premium price tag.

If you're looking to cut costs or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of alternatives available. Many eufy models cost considerably less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and offers the same experience in the app, but with additional features such as stairs, a fully-function dock, and superior overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac g30

eufy is an Anker company with a history of producing robot vacuums that have the right combination of performance, features, and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different and offers a powerful cleaning on hard floors and mopping, carpets and other surfaces at a price that is affordable. It's easy to set up simply by snapping one of the side brushes on, turn it on and plug in the charging dock. The app walks you through a few steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi. After that, the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to place the dock near an electrical outlet and ample space to allow it to move around, however.

The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be exact and can be tucked away under couches and other furniture with a low clearance. The design is less ostentatious than some rival models, sporting sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical such as Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs an area in an arc for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.

The way in which the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from its competitors. It makes use of an integrated map to draw an image of the immovable objects in its path. It can remember what it has already cleaned and what it is unable to access. When it's time to recharge, it returns to its base, and then resumes cleaning from where it began.

The sleek G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba is more durable and has lower recurring costs. It charges faster, offers similar battery life and performs better on bare floors or low-pile carpet. It has a larger dust bin that doesn't require as much emptying. It also comes with boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 is cheaper and easier to maintain. Its smaller dust container doesn't need emptying as often and it has less trouble with bulky material like cereal.
