Ahsan Manzil

Also called the Pink Palace, it's where the wealthiest family of Dhaka resided during British rule. The then richest feudal landlord of Dhaka, Nawab Abdul Gani had the palace constructed in 1872 on the site of an old French factory. Around 16 years following its erection, a tornado destroyed it. After reconstruction, it has become even grander. This magnificent palace will be waiting for you when you deboard your Delhi to Dhaka flight. 

Lalbagh Fort

This 17th-century fort shows the excellence of Mughal architecture. Prince Muhammed Azam began its construction and wanted Shaista Khan, the then governor of Dhaka to complete it. However, the fort remained unfinished since the governor's daughter, Pari Bibi died. The fort houses her tomb. Besides, it has a museum displaying Mughal calligraphy, paintings, swords, and firearms. 

Sadarghat

It's a busy waterfront of Dhaka and harbors the Sadarghat River Port and various smaller ports. Sadarghat passes nearly 30,000 passengers daily and is among the largest river ports in Asia. Parliament Building of Bangladesh

It's the most brilliant architecture of the Yale University professor and world-famous architect, Louis I. Kahn. Immediately after the partition of India, when Bangladesh was named East Pakistan, the Pakistanis commissioned the erection of the building. It was supposed to function as the second seat of the national parliament. The construction work began in 1964 but could complete only in 1982 after the Bangladeshi War of Independence. If you're fond of architecture, this place is a must-visit in Dhaka. 

Kawran Bazaar

It's the largest wholesale market in the city. Full of capture-worthy activities, the bazaar is a favorite spot for photographers. Here tradings go on from midnight to around 8.30 in the morning. However, the permanent shops keep themselves open throughout the day. So, you'll get enough time to shop to your heart's content and bring souvenirs back home on your Dhaka to Delhi flight

Dhakeshwari Temple

Owned by the state, this ancient temple dates 500 years back. One Mangat Ray, also called Ballalasena constructed it. He was the son of Raja Malhana, also known as Husen Shah, a popular Arakanese king. The temple proudly stands as Dhaka's center of Hindu religion and culture. Devotees visit here in colorful sarees, ring the bell on the door before entering the temple, and carry out several ceremonies. Almost all the important Hindu festivals in Dhaka begin from here. Therefore, there's always a festive vibe about this place.
