I use Razer Tiamat 7.1 Surround Sound headphones but no matter what settings i try to tweak the audio sounds really wierd ingame, it sounds muffled with not enough bass. All my other games work fine.
surround sound headphones are a scam. 7.1 means there should be a: center channel front left front right right rear left rear thats 5.0 add a subwoofer. making it 5.1 add a left and right sideways channel makes it 7.1 you can't properly fit all those speakers in a headset. the post processing used by headphones to give this "effect" likely isnt tied in any way to codecs used for dolby atmos.
ok fair enough, but the overall sound just isnt right at all its completely off. Any possible reasons as to why? It has to be the game..

well alot of games have yet to support dolby atmos, perhaps your tiamats firmware doesnt support/recognise the new codec?
Virtual surround doesn't work in this game. To fix this, go to your appdata folder ( Username\AppData\Local\Gears5\Saved\Config\PC ) Open GameUserSettings.ini and change sg.AudioQuality from 3 to 1 (or 0)
my sounds a little weird too. i have the same headset. tiamats do have proper 7.1 (obviously not a good as a theatre setup). surround does work but it all seems tinny. not an issue i have with any other game. seems like very poor sound on the games part. i didn't have this issue with gears 4
I have the same headset and it sounds alright in game for me after I turned on something called Windows Sonic or something like that in windows sound settings along with the 7.1 surround option turned on the razer app

Для кого-то это человек с шапкой-ушанкой на голове, для кого-то человек с бутылкой водки в руке. Попробуем разобраться, кто же он в действительности.
If you ask what a Russian man is like, then you’ll more than likely find an answer. Probably each person has their own image of the Russian man. For one, it’s a man with a cap with ear flaps on his head, for another one it’s a man with a bottle of vodka in his hand. Let’s try to understand who he is in reality.
Наверное, главной чертой русского мужчины является его стремление делать все от души. Может быть, это даже не стремление, просто так всегда получается. Эта черта характерна не только для русских мужчин, но и для женщин, и проявляется во многих жизненных ситуациях.
Probably the main feature of a Russian man is his desire to do everything from his soul. Maybe that is not even desire, just always turns out so. This feature is characteristic not only for Russian men but also for women, and expresses in many life situations.
Начнем с того, что русские мужчины иногда бывают очень щедрыми. Можно сказать с уверенностью, что средний русский окажется более щедрым, чем средний иностранец. Это обычно позор, если женщина сама платит за себя, когда мужчина рядом. К примеру, если русский мужчина предлагает девушке встретиться, то это заранее предполагает, что он платит за обоих. Так что, иностранные мужчины! Помните, что если вы просите русскую женщину пойти с Вами на свидание, то удостоверьтесь, что у Вас достаточно денег, чтобы заплатить и за нее тоже. В противном случае Вы можете даже не надеяться на следующее свидание.
Let’s start with the fact that Russian men sometimes are very generous. We can say with sure that average Russian man is more generous then average foreigner. It’s usually a shame for them if a woman pays for herself when he is near. For example if a guy asks girl to go out anywhere with him it's assumed that he will pay for both. So foreign men! Remember if you are asking a Russian woman on a date, be sure that you have enough money to pay for her too. Or you can’t even hope for the next date.
Кто знает, возможно, эта черта сохранилась в России из-за медленного и слабого развития феминизма. Хорошо это или плохо решайте сами. Но может быть, именно из-за этого в стране достаточно мало альфонсов. Хотя, конечно, все меняется.
Who knows, maybe this feature has been kept in Russia because of slow and weak feminism development. You decide if it’s good or bad. But maybe that is why there are few gigolos in the country. Though everything changes of course.
Русский не привык и не любит экономить. Считать кажется ему мелким и недостойным занятием. Более того, он вообще не любит ограничивать себя чем-либо. Русские очень любят свободу. Она нужна им, как воздух. Живя в такой большой по территории стране, эта черта, конечно, не удивляет. Широта и простор – вот слова, которые всегда приятны и близки русскому сердцу.
A Russian is not used to economizing and doesn’t like doing it. He considers counting to be a shallow and unworthy thing. Moreover he doesn’t like to limit himself in anything. Russians like freedom very much. They need it as the air. This feature isn't surprising because we live in such a big country. Breadth and speciousness are the words which are always pleasant and close to Russian heart.
Но здесь можно найти и свои минусы. Например, из-за этой черты многие русские мужчины не любят брать на себя обязательства. Они бояться, что в любой момент они могут быть ограничены в свободе.
But we can find some minuses here. For example because of this feature lots of Russian men don’t like to take responsibility for themselves. They are afraid that they can be limited in their freedom at any moment.
Именно из-за любви к свободе русские не любят жить по правилам и, более того, не признают их.
Because of their love of freedom Russians don’t like to live by rules and moreover they even don’t accept them.
Теперь давайте снова вернемся к вопросам феминизма, который практически обошел Россию стороной. Именно поэтому традиционно считается, что мужчина главный в семье. Хотя в реальности все часто оказывается совсем не так, и, несмотря на внешнее лидерство мужа, решения принимает жена. В России говорят: «Мужчина – голова, женщина шея». Эта пословица только подтверждает сказанное выше. Также, в России считается нормальным, если мужчина отдает свою зарплату жене, и она ей распоряжается.
Now let’s go back to questions of feminism which practically went aside Russia. That is why it’s traditionally considered that a man is the main person in the family. Though in reality it often doesn't appear like that, and in spite of leadership of her husband, the wife makes the decisions. They say in Russia: “A Husband is a head and wife is a neck”. This proverb just proves the thing said before. Also in Russia it’s OK if husband gives his wages to the wife, and she manages it.
Кстати в России принято, что именно зарплата мужа является основным источником дохода в семье. Поэтому карьера имеет большое значение в его жизни. Но нельзя сказать, что русские мужчины очень трудолюбивы. Кроме того, устраиваясь на работу, мужчины часто получают преимущество перед женщинами. Также существуют профессии, которые считаются мужскими. Это водитель, хирург, водопроводчик, полицейский и многие другие.
By the way, in Russia it’s assumed that husband’s wages are the basic source of income in family. That is why a career means alot in his life. But we can’t say that Russian men are very hardworking. Besides, when applying for a job men often get an advantage over women. Also there are jobs which are considered to be masculine. These are a driver, surgeon, plumber, policeman and many others.
Также считается, что русский мужчина должен уметь что-то делать в доме. Существует даже следующая шутка. В доме мужчины обязательно должен быть набор инструментов. И не важно, пользуется он им или нет.
Also it’s considered that Russian man must be capable of doing something in house. There’s even a joke. There must be a toolbox at a man’s house. And it doesn’t matter if he uses it or not.
Чем же занимаются русские мужчины в свободное время? Во-первых, они, также как и русские женщины, очень любят общение. Они с удовольствием проводят время с друзьями. Они встречаются в кафе, разговаривают друг с другом и пьют пиво.
So what do Russian men do in their free time? First like Russian women they also love communicating very much. They spend time with their friends with pleasure. They meet in a café, talk to each other and drink beer.
Также русские мужчины не могут жить без своих машин. И не важно, дорогой ли у них Мерседес или старый Москвич, они все равно относятся к своему автомобилю с большой заботой. Вот почему некоторые мужчины проводят много времени в гараже. Здесь они моют, ремонтируют свои машины, меняют зимние и летние шины и так далее. И если русские не готовы переехать на новую квартиру при повышении своих доходов, то машину они меняют вместе со своим статусом.
Also Russian men can’t live without their cars. And that doesn’t matter if he has an expensive Mercedes or an old Moskvich, they still treat their cars with great care. That is why some men spend so much time in the garage. Here they wash, repair their cars, change winter or summer tire etc. And if Russians are not ready to move to a new flat with their income rising then they change cars right with their status.
Еще одним увлечением русских мужчин является футбол. Практически каждый мужчина болеет за свою любимую команду. И если русский мужчина смотрит футбольный матч, то можно и не пытаться переключить канал. Также можно и не пытаться поговорить с ним о чем-нибудь в этот момент, потому что он все равно Вас не услышит. А если мужчина смотрит футбол вместе со своими друзьями, то также не удивляйтесь, если Вы услышите аплодисменты или восторженные крики. Это всего лишь означает, что любимая команда выигрывает.
Another entertainment of Russian men is football. Practically every man supports for his favorite team. And if Russian man watches a football match then you don’t try to change the channel. Also, don’t try to talk to him because he won’t hear you anyway. And if a man watches football with his friends then don’t be surprises to hear applause and enthusiastic shouting. That just means that favorite team is winning.
К вещам, которые русские мужчины не любят можно отнести походы по магазинам. Как ни странно, но многие из них считают шоппинг бессмысленным и бесполезным занятием. Кроме того, это кажется им очень скучным. Поэтому большинство русских мужчин предпочитают ходить в магазин лишь в случаях крайней необходимости. Хотя в этом вопросе ситуация в последнее время меняется.
Shopping is among those things which Russian men don’t like. It’s strange but lots of them consider shopping to be senseless and useless. Besides most Russian men prefer going to a shop only in the case of an emergency. Though the situation has changed lately.
Еще одна известная особенность русских мужчин – это любовь в водке. Действительно, они иногда могут выпить больше нормы. Кроме того, будьте аккуратны с ответом, если Вас спросят, пьете ли Вы водку. Отвечайте да лишь в том случае, если Вы пьете чистую водку, а не коктейль с ее добавлением. Бывают даже ситуации, когда не выпить хотя бы немного считается невежливым. Например, некоторые праздники и важные события. И не забывайте, что Вы всегда можете ответить нет. Но уж если Вы согласитесь выпить немного с русским, то это заметно поможет Вам заслужить у него хорошее отношение к себе.
Another one famous peculiarity of Russian men is the love of vodka. Really, they sometimes can drink more than normal. Besides, to be accurate with your answer if you are asked whether you drink vodka. Answer yes only in case you drink not a cocktail with it but just straight vodka. There are some situations when not to drink a little can be considered to be impolite. For example some holidays and important events. And don’t forget that you always can say no. But if you agree to drink a little with a Russian that will notably help to give him a good opinion of yourself.
Вот те основные особенности, которые отличают русских мужчин от остальных. И если Вы с ними пообщаетесь, то, скорее всего, откроете для себя еще много нового.
These are the main peculiarities differing Russian men from others. And if you talk to them you’ll more likely find a lot of other things.
