5 Ways To Use A Tablet

Remember when the whole world went crazy for tablets. It seemed like if you didn't have one, you were in a different crowd. A crowd reading their e-book on their small smartphone screen or trying to carry a bulky laptop on a plane. I was one of those people who had to have one, and I got one for my birthday in 2010. I felt like this little piece of technology was going to change my life ... Fast forward to 2019, and I don't own a tablet. Honestly, I don't feel the emptiness of not wearing one, and I wonder if others feel the same. Read more here about this article.

Since the advancement of smartphone technology, phones, in general, have gotten bigger. They have practically replaced tablets. Additionally, the evolution of laptops has resulted in devices that are smaller, lighter, and equipped with hardware that can cope with our productivity standards.

So this is what I would suggest if you still want a tablet and are wondering how it might fit into your lifestyle:

Have children?

Tablets are a great piece of technology for kids. Don't get me wrong, I think children should run and play outside in nature. However, downtime is necessary in certain situations, such as long road trips or hectic Sunday shopping trips. These are perfect situations for kids to play or watch their favorite show on Netflix. You can hand over your phone, however risking losing it is the perfect recipe for identity theft (link to our blog post on identity theft) or damaging your phone. Tablets are perfect for these situations, and you can even buy a sturdy sleeve to keep the tablet safe from drops and spills.

Do you read e-books a lot?

These days, you can take 10 books with you on vacation without the added weight of your luggage. You don't even have to buy them anymore - your local library often offers them on their website for free. If you find that you are reading a lot of these, it can help to invest in a tablet. Reading on a smartphone is fine, but it can lead to eyestrain after long periods due to its smaller scale.

Are you a gamer?

I know you're probably going through all levels of Candy Crush like a champion, but I mean games that require a bit more oomph. If you are a hardcore gamer, you need a device with a powerful enough power supply to support high-end gaming components. Take a look at the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 or Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus, which are excellent options. Carrying a tablet is much easier than carrying a bulky gaming laptop on the go. Which brings me to the next point.

Are you a business owner?

Many small and medium business owners are switching to paperless methods. From scanning your important documents to a document management system (DMS), emailing customers their receipts, to fully digitizing their purchases at the point of sale (POS). The last one belongs to this article. Replacing outdated cash registers with sleek, easy-to-handle tablets to withdraw money from customers is becoming increasingly common. All you need is one app, a little finesse combined with training, and you're up and running. I remember going to a restaurant last year, and they used tablets not only to call customers, but their waiters also used them to take orders.

Conclusion

As you can see, there may still be some apps in your life that a tablet fits into. However, there are not many. My suggestion to you, if you are thinking of getting a table, is to carefully analyze your lifestyle and try to imagine if you would actually use one. You do not want to invest money, much or little, in something that you would rarely use.
