As the name suggests, GE's Profile series is geared towards the consumer who wants to incorporate cutting-edge technology into their kitchen. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. Since this refrigerator is more, I'd expect better.
Aside from that blip however, this refrigerator is a great choice. It boasts a spacious freezer compartment, which is quite uncommon in counter-depth French door fridges, and it can hold a decent amount of frozen foods compared to similar models.
Inside the fridge, there are 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is the standard for a French-door fridge at this price. It comes with a decent size refrigerator with an ice maker in the left door. But it's not the biggest one I've seen.
You can adjust the shelves in both compartments to create customized storage layout for the items you need to store. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is stylish, too. The LED lighting is an attractive touch. The storage bins in the door come with a third shelf that can be folded down to store large items. The drawers include temperature controls that allow you to set them to Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. The drawers are simple to open and close, but I found the textured plastic coatings a bit hard on my fingers.
The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator comes with all the features you would expect from a refrigerator within this price range. This includes Wi-Fi, app support and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app is compatible with iOS and Android devices and allows you to control your refrigerator from anywhere in the globe. It also comes with a lot of customization options. It also sends you notifications when the door is unlocked, when the fridge or freezer needs to be defrosted, and when the filter has to be changed.
It would be nice if GE PYE22PYNFS had Precise Fill it's an option in a few other GE fridges that allows you to set the number of cups of water you'd like to dispense simultaneously. It does offer an indicator on the fridge's display to display how much water have remaining, but that's not as useful as Precise fill.
Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
Designed to look as a seamless element of your kitchen, Bosch's French-door refrigerator is an eye-catching piece. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also boasts a veggie compartment to keep fruits and vegetables fresher longer and dual compressors to ensure maximum preservation of food. The Ice maker is among the most efficient we've ever tested and produces a pyramid-shaped ice with a low use of water. This refrigerator is ideal for a single household or a kitchenette with an attractive design and top of the line food preservation.
The fridge was rated the best refrigerator in our Refrigerators test, for a few reasons. The temperature of the freezer remained stable at just a few degrees Fahrenheit, never changing by more than a fraction one degree. This is crucial to preventing freezer burn. The fridge section of the fridge also performed well, reaching the desired temperature for initial set within a matter of hours and keeping that temperature steady over the course of our testing.

The fridge is built with an ordinary French door design, and two rows of shelving with spill-capture and a set crisper drawers. The top right shelf can be folded down to give tall items more room. There's also a full-width drawer for deli and an inside water dispenser.
This refrigerator is equipped with an ice maker, making it easy to move the frozen ice whenever you need it. The freezer also has thoughtful design features, such as sliding drawers that can help you sort your things. It also comes with a large bin that holds plenty of frozen food items as well as an additional container for storing ice.
Smart InstaView panel is a cool feature of the refrigerator. You can manage the temperature, lighting, and other aspects of your fridge using your smartphone. It's a great method of monitoring and managing your refrigerator, particularly if you're away from home.
Although the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it doesn't necessarily enhance the overall performance of the refrigerator. In fact, it took longer to defrost and chill foods in this fridge than some of the others we tested. This is probably due to its bigger capacity.

Its capacity is above average for a counter-depth model and it cools well and has a nice layout. It's also a bit cheaper than the best counter depth refrigerator with an icemaker, which makes it an attractive option.
Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
If you're looking for a French door fridge that doesn't break the bank, this Frigidaire is a good choice. It has a simple design that's not as visually striking like some of the competitors, but it has enough features to make it a solid option. Its main characteristic is the adjustable temperature drawer that helps keep food items such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water dispenser, as well as an excellent Ice machine that is fast.
Another great feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits over the two crisper bins. This drawer allows you to redirect a portion of your fridge's cooling power to this area, so it can be used to store food items that require special attention. The temperatures in the middle, top and bottom of the refrigerator didn't vary much from 38 degrees. This is a pretty good performance however it doesn't make it into the top ten in our ratings.
This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also connect this fridge to a smart thermometer to get more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge.
The exterior of the Frigidaire is made of grey-bodied stainless that has a "smudge resistant" finish. It wards off streaks and fingerprints better than other stainless steel finishes I've tried.
